FA Cup: Fulham vs Newcastle Lines & Odds
EPL Sides Meet in FA Cup

Struggling Newcastle Head to London
Wins have been few and far between for Newcastle United over the last couple of months. The last Premier League team they defeated was Fulham, last month. Now, the Magpies head on the road to London for a match vs. Fulham in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
First Fulham takes on Liverpool in the EFL Cup Semifinal second leg on Wednesday. Ahead of Saturday’s match, we’ll preview the Fulham vs. Newcastle lines and odds.
Head-to-Head:
The FA Cup draw has matched up Fulham and Newcastle four previous times but not since 1961. Newcastle are 4-0 vs. Fulham in the FA Cup and the Magpies have also won the last four meetings, in all competitions.
In December, Lewis Miley, Miguel Almiron, and Dan Burn all scored as Newcastle defeated ten-man Fulham 3-0. Newcastle are unbeaten in the last seven meetings and Fulham last won in this fixture in 2017.
Busy Week for Fulham
Before taking on Newcastle on Saturday, Fulham face Liverpool in the EFL Cup Semifinal second leg. Wednesday’s match is a massive one for Fulham as cup finals have been few and far between for the Cottagers.
They’ll need to win by one goal to force extra time and can only advance directly by defeating Liverpool by two goals or more. With just two days of rest in between the Liverpool and Newcastle matches, Silva could rotate his squad for Saturday.
The Cottagers never properly replaced Aleksandr Mitrovic, who they sold for a club record transfer fee of £50m to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. Raul Jimenez is a serviceable striker but injuries over the last few campaigns somewhat derailed his career.
This lack of prolific scoring will continue to hurt Fulham as their ceiling is relatively low. That doesn’t mean they can’t string a result or two together at times. They defeated Arsenal last month and had a run where they scored 13 goals in three games.
Fulham tend to struggle vs. top opposition and heading into Wednesday’s match vs. Liverpool, they’ve only won two of their last eight matches, in all competitions. Plus, Fode Ballo-Toure, Alex Iwobi, and Calvin Bassey are all away on international duty. With that in mind, the Fulham vs Newcastle lines list the Cottagers as +185 underdogs.
Newcastle Struggling Defensively
Newcastle United was ecstatic when the third round FA Cup schedule was released. They took on bitter rivals Sunderland a few weeks ago and came away with a 3-0 victory.
Alexander Isak scored twice in the win and he’s been one of the Magpies’ best players this season. Isak has scored 14 goals, in all competitions, and has been one of the Premier League’s best strikers. With Callum Wilson dealing with some minor injury issues, Isak becomes even more important.
This season, in general, has been derailed by injuries for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle. Goalkeeper Nick Pope is out until April with a dislocated shoulder, while Joe Willock, Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Matt Targett, and Jacob Murphy could all miss Saturday’s match. At one point, Newcastle had 14 players sidelined.
The Magpies also have just three road victories this season, in all competitions. Two of those wins came in cup competitions and they’ll hope that trend continues on Saturday.
Even though their starting backline is available for this match, defense has been an issue recently. Newcastle have conceded at least three goals in three of their last four matches, in all competitions.
Match Analysis & Odds
Bettors should note that Newcastle have outscored Fulham 10-1 over the last four meetings. Here, the Fulham vs Newcastle lines price the visiting Magpies as +130 favorites. Fulham last defeated Newcastle at home in 2016 and are +185 underdogs for this one. Depending on how things play out on Wednesday for Fulham vs. Liverpool, the lines could move as the week goes on.
It would be wise to stay on top of any injury updates on Wednesday and beyond. While Fulham wins have been few and far between as of late, Newcastle have also been quite inconsistent. They enter this match with just one win in their last six games. They’ve also fallen to teams like Nottingham Forest and Luton Town in the last month.
Fulham pk, +0.5 shows -120 odds for this one, while Newcastle pk, -0.5 sits at -110. A draw is priced at +250 odds and that’d mean the two sides contest a replay round in Newcastle in the coming weeks. Although Newcastle’s defense has been leaky recently, under 2.5, 3 goals show -120 odds here.
