Now, we’ll take a look at the odds and match facts in this Saint Kitts vs USA betting preview.

CONCACAF Gold Cup

Game: Saint Kitts & Nevis vs. USA
Location: CITYPARK, St. Louis, USA Date & Time: Wednesday, June 28th, 10:00 p.m. ET

Head-to-Head

Wednesday’s match on the Gold Cup schedule will be the first-ever meeting between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the USA. Saint Kitts are ranked 139th in the FIFA rankings, 126 places below the USA.

Saint Kitts’ Debut Spoiled by Trinidad

    • Last Match: 0-3 L vs. Trinidad & Tobago
    • Standings: 0-1, 4th Group A
    • Next Match: Jul. 2 vs. Jamaica

Gold Cup new boys Saint Kitts played a decent first half vs. Trinidad and Tobago. In their first-ever Gold Cup match, Saint Kitts managed a few chances and certainly belonged on the pitch. It took a moment of brilliance to break down the Saint Kitts defense. A searching through ball found Alvin Jones, who chested the ball down and volleyed it in the back of the net. Jones put Trinidad and Tobago up 1-0 and they never looked back.

Trinidad added two goals in the second half to take down Saint Kitts and Nevis, 3-0. Now, Saint Kitts have to take on CONCACAF powerhouses USA on American soil. Our Saint Kitts vs USA betting preview notes that St. Louis, where this match is being played, has six times more people than the entire nation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

That makes it even the more impressive that the Sugar Boyz managed to qualify for the Gold Cup. In the first round, they drew 1-1 with Curacao and advanced on penalties. It once again took a dramatic round of PKs to knock out French Guiana and qualify for their first Gold Cup. Forget about top European tournaments, Saint Kitts doesn’t even have a player on their roster in MLS. They’re a true underdog story.

USA Get Late Equalizer

    • Last Match: 1-1 D vs. Jamaica
    • Standings: 0-1-0, T-2nd Group A
    • Next Match: July 2 vs. Trinidad & Tobago

USA interim coach B.J. Callaghan opted to name an experimental roster for the Gold Cup. The big American names all played in the CONCACAF Nations League final but there’s no Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Gio Reyna or Folarin Balogun here. It showed in the USA’s first match vs. Jamaica, where they struggled to score. Jamaica opened up the scoring and nearly doubled their lead.

One American star who did play in the Nations League ended up bailing the USMNT out. Goalkeeper Matt Turner saved Leon Bailey’s penalty to keep the score at 1-0. The USA finally got an equalizer in the 88th minute, through substitute Brandon Vazquez. It was an uneven performance from a group that quite apparently haven’t played together very often.

Even though the USA have nowhere near their strongest team available, the soccer predictions rate them as one of the most likely teams to win the tournament. Currently, the USA come in at +225 odds to defend their title and win the 2023 Gold Cup.

Match Analysis and Odds

There are some veterans on the USA team, including Turner, DeAndre Yedlin, Jordan Morris and Matt Miazga. It stands to reason that the USMNT expect to put on a better performance in this match than they did Saturday. Saint Kitts vs USA betting previews aren’t giving the visiting debutants much of a chance here.

Saint Kitts are massive 4.5-goal underdogs here in their first-ever match vs. the USA. The Sugar Boyz last lost by five goals in 2017 in a friendly vs. Armenia. In the CONCACAF Nations League alone, the US managed two five-goal wins over Guyana. Saint Kitts +4.5 shows -125 odds, though, while USA -4.5 comes in at -105 odds.

The moneyline odds are as follows: Saint Kitts +6500, USA -4500 and Draw +1700. The odds correspond to a 97.8 percent implied chance of victory for the USMNT. The over/under goal total for the match is also an astronomical 5.5. The over currently stands at -120 odds ahead of Wednesday’s match.
