There is a betting market for the best golf players in the world to make the cut in all four majors, headed by Scottie Scheffler at -190.
Our PGA Tour expert picks have a few players tipped to make the weekend throughout the year’s biggest tournaments.
Scheffler Leads the Way
Scheffler is the best golfer in the world, and although he hasn’t won since April, he always plays well in the majors.
He has an exceptional majors record, so golf odds have him at -190 to make the cut in all four PGA majors.
The American didn’t miss the cut in 2023, and his worst finish was T23 at the Open Championship, so he was supremely consistent.
He finished T2 at the PGA Championship, third at the US Open, and T10 at the Masters. It’s stellar form, which is why he’s the favorite.
Bettors must take short odds, but they’re worth snapping up.
Is McIlroy a Good Bet?
Rory McIlroy is on the second line of betting, but is he a good bet to make the cut in all four PGA majors?
The Northern Irishman is a four-time winner, and he’s usually near the top of the PGA leaderboard, but he hasn’t won since 2014.
He also missed the cut at the 2021 and 2023 Masters, so he’s a risky wager at the -180 odds.
He has also missed the cut at the US Open five times, so there is too much risk to feature McIlroy in our picks.
McIlroy recently made headlines for a heated conversation with caddy Joe LaCava.
“Things happen in the heat of the moment; tensions were high. Joe LaCava came into the European team room on the Sunday night and had a drink and a chat,” McIlroy said.
“I’ve had a great relationship with Joe over the years when he caddied for Tiger (Woods), and that wasn’t going to change.
“For me, the incident happened, I purposely didn’t want to meet anyone on the Sunday morning because I wanted what had happened to fuel me for that day. My whole focus was let’s make sure Europe win the Ryder Cup and then we will sort all the other stuff out afterwards.”
Momentum with Hovland
Viktor Hovland is one of the hottest golfers in the world, and he’s a good bet to make the cut in all four PGA majors.
He had a great 2023 in the majors, including a T2 finish at the PGA Championship and a T7 at the Masters.
His worst finish was a 19th at the US Open, so the FedEx Cup champion was a model of consistency, and we can’t see that changing.
Bettors get value odds for the Norwegian at -125, and we can’t see him missing the cut throughout the week.
