Big names in golf return at the ZOZO Championship this week, including Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Rickie Fowler.
Only Schauffele is quoted at single-figure odds at the sportsbook, so there is plenty of value with the rest of the field.
It’s always an exciting tournament, and it sees the PGA Tour fields improve significantly.
Morikawa Overdue Victory
Morikawa hasn’t won since 2021, so the quality ball striker is overdue a win on the PGA Tour.
He went through a slight confidence dip, but he can’t be overlooked at the ZOZO Championship with two majors on his record.
The American won the 2020 PGA Championship before winning a WGC event in 2021. He followed it up with a 2021 Open Championship win by two strokes over Jordan Spieth, so no one denies his class.
He’s a five-time PGA Tour winner, and we’re interested in his +1100 odds. He’s on the second line of betting, which is where we would have him.
It’s only a matter of time before Morikawa wins again, and this tournament is right up his alley following a short break after the Ryder Cup.
Don’t Fall Foul of Fowler
Fowler took four years to win a golf tournament following his 2019 success at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, but he’s back to playing his best.
The crowd favorite defeated Morikawa in a playoff, which was good to see after he had a confidence crisis.
Bettors shouldn’t forget that he’s a six-time PGA Tour winner, and although he didn’t play his best at the Ryder Cup, he should have relished the experience.
Much like Morikawa, it’s only a matter of time before the 34-year-old lifts another trophy, and it could be at the ZOZO Championship.
Fowler is a +1400 chance with betting markets, which is worth adding to selections. He should be near the top of the leaderboard throughout, and he’s well worth sticking with.
Value with Lee
Min Woo Lee is another crowd favorite, and he comes off a win in Macau, which ended a two-year losing drought.
Considered one of the game’s rising stars, the Australian played well on the DP World Tour before earning his PGA Tour card, and a win at the ZOZO Championship could take him to the next level.
“As soon as the week started, I had a couple of days rest because of the typhoon, and the course was looking amazing from the beginning. Obviously, it was pretty bad for a couple of days there, so it was props to the green keepers for keeping the course in such good condition,” Lee said.
“And yeah, I played wonderful, really flawless golf for a lot of the holes, there was only a few holes that I could really look back on. But yeah, I’m really proud of the way I handled myself.”
