Will Canelo Alvarez Dominate Jaime Munguia at the Boxing Bout?
Canelo Is Set to Defend His Super Middleweight Championship Against a Dangerous Munguia

The Hype is Real
The biggest boxing news is focused squarely on Saturday night’s clash between undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and the undefeated challenger, Jaime Munguia. But will the champ cruise to victory as many believe?

Canelo Calling the Shots
Canelo Alvarez’s net worth is approaching $275 million and at 33, soon to be 34, he’s closer to the end than the beginning of his storied career. Therefore, it’s not surprising he is no longer chasing opponents to make a name for himself but is now in a position to choose the opportunities that are best for him.
👑 @Canelo has had the fighting spirit since he was a child.

Rumors regardiong Canelo vs Munguia Odds had speculated that Canelo would defend his belt against the undefeated David Benavidez, who at 6’2” and possessing a four-inch reach would have been a handful for Alvarez. When it was clear Alvarez had no appetite for defending his title against Benavidez, the focus shifted to David Morrell, a rising star eager to get a long-awaited shot at the champ.
But Alvarez is now the face of boxing and dictates who he fights and when. He spurned Morrell as well, choosing to battle a lesser threat.
“I think it is a different era for me, ” … If you see my history, it’s always somebody else [fans want me to face] when I fight. … Right now with Benavidez. It’s always there. So, I don’t really focus on that anymore because it’s never going to be enough for some people.” Munguia said last month.

Double Trouble
Jaime Munguia just happens to be fighting under boxer-turned-promoter Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Productions. Things turned ugly at a press conference earlier in the week when De La Hoya said he had made Alvarez who he is today after promoting him for 10 years until an acrimonious fallout in 2020 with Canelo suing De La Hoya for breach of contract.
Now DLH is threatening to sue Alvarez for defamation after he accused the promoter of stealing his money. Needless to say, Alvarez will be battling two opponents on Saturday night, Munguia inside the ring and De La Hoya on the outside.

As optimistic as Oscar is regarding his protégé’s prospects on Saturday night, the oddsmakers certainly don’t share that opinion. Some online sportsbooks have installed Alvarez as high as -650 to win the fight against the undefeated challenger who boasts a record of 43-0.

Legacy on the Line
Canelo Alvarez has earned his right to call the shots but some believe his reluctance to face the very best the division has to offer reflects an aging fighter who is no longer hungry enough to be considered a lock against younger and more determined fighters… like Jaime Munguia.
👀 wait for the end 👀

No one will be shocked if Canelo vs Munguia Odds show Alvarez starching Munguia and puts another notch on his holster. Yet, the 27-year-old Mexican packs a punch as evidenced by his 34 knockouts in 43 fights, all victories. Enhancing his already elite legacy is what the name of the game is now for Canelo but should he falter against Munguia on Saturday night, it could signal the decline of what has been a brilliant career.
🤯 Let’s not forget, Jaime Munguia did 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑺 to John Ryder…
