Paul George Career Stats: Underrated Star Could Leave L.A.
Potential Future Hall of Famer in Latest NBA Trade Rumors

Paul George’s career stats denote a Hall of Fame-caliber career. But the eight-time All-Star’s shortcomings and injuries have dampened his superstar status. As such, trade rumors are abound that he and/or Kawhi Leonard may be traded out of the L.A. Clippers. With both on expiring deals, could their time in Tinseltown be coming to an end?
Paul George’s Career Up To Now
2022-23: Another All-Star Season Hampered by Injuries
Paul George made his eighth NBA All-Star appearance last season. His NBA statistics were 23.8 points, 61. rebounds, and 5.1 assists while shooting 45.7% from the field. However, for a second straight year, he was absent in the playoffs. George got hurt and had to watch on the sidelines as his Clippers were eliminated by the Suns in five games.
At 33, George and the Clippers’ window for winning an NBA title is getting smaller. The NBA championship odds still have the team as a top-eight contender and this is only assuming he and Leonard can stay healthy.
George had a strong postseason just two years ago where he averaged 26.9 points, 9.6 boards, and 5.4 assists as he carried the franchise to its first-ever Conference Finals appearance. Indeed, “PG13” is still a bonafide star. But his inability to stay healthy makes him hard to trust.
Paul George’s Player Profile & Stats
A native of California, George finally got to play for his home city after a blockbuster trade with Oklahoma City. George played two NBA seasons with OKC and was nominated for MVP in his 2018-19. Prior to that, he spent his first seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers. He won the Most Improved Player Award in 2012-13.
Career Stats
Paul George’s career stats, accolades, and popularity make him highly likely to join basketball’s Hall of Fame when his career concludes. He will go down as one of the best forwards of his generation.

George was dubbed “Playoff P” with how he elevates his game in the postseason. He had a few rough playoffs (like 2020) but he generally delivers as his teams win at least one playoff round. Winning a title will cement his legacy as one of the best playoff performers.
Where Will George Play Next?
Even with his injury risk and advanced age, Paul George’s career stats are hard to ignore. Some team like the Knicks or Hawks could use a star like George. It could happen via trade this year or next. Or George could opt out of his one-year deal next season and sign a longer deal. Regardless, expect George to have another productive season this 2023-24.
