Warriors vs 76ers Betting Odds: Sixers Look to Stay Hot

Philly Play Host to Depleted Warriors

Warriors in for Turbulent Ride

The Golden State Warriors have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their trip to Philadelphia with news that Steph Curry is set to miss a few weeks with a shoulder injury. Let’s take a look at the Warriors vs 76ers Betting Odds as we dive into this match up.

The 76ers are rolling at the moment as they ride a three-game win streak into their showdown with the defending champions. James Harden and Joel Embiid are finding their flow together and the offense is putting up scary numbers.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have found themselves in a concerning position on the back of Curry’s injury blow. The team is sitting 10th in the West and will now continue this long road trip without their two biggest contributors from last NBA season in Curry and Andrew Wiggins.

The home team sit as 7.5-point favorites on the market for this one, with the full game total opening at 223 points.

Sixers Look to Build on Recent Success

The Philadelphia 76ers are slowly getting their stars back and in rhythm. The result of late has been one of the most efficient offenses in the league, with the team averaging 129.0 points per game during this win streak.

Joel Embiid is looking back to his MVP form, with last seasons runner-up for the award averaging 35.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in his seven games since returning from injury.

Harden’s playmaking alongside this level of production is what’s elevating this teams offense to the top of the NBA at the moment. Since his return from injury, The Beard is averaging 22.2 points and 12.5 assists while also shooting over 41% from beyond the arc.

When Philly’s All-Star duo are in tandem like they have been it’s difficult for any team to try to contain, but even more so for a Golden State defense that simply doesn’t have the pieces to match up with this offense.

The Warriors defense is allowing opponents to shoot at over 70% at the rim since the start of the month and now have to deal with the most dominant big man under the basket in Embiid. Getting into a shootout with the Sixers seems an unrealistic option as well given the Warriors injuries concerns so it’s difficult to see exactly how they contain Philly here.

Banged Up Warriors in Difficult Spot

Things are about to get very slippery for Golden State as they try to navigate the NBA slopes without one of the most impactful basketball players in the league leading the way for them.

This season, the Warriors are -17.8 points per 100 possessions worse when Curry is off the floor. They own a -18.2 net rating per 100 possessions without him, which is the worst plus/minus rating of any starter in the entire NBA.

Couple that with star wing Andrew Wiggins also still missing and it’s tough to see a path for them to be competitive right now, especially against one of the hottest NBA teams in the league in current form.

Lineups without both Curry and Wiggins rank in the 7th percentile in the league for point differential. Not only is the offense extremely stagnant – averaging just 105.4 points per 100 possessions – but their defense also lags significantly, ranking in the 25th percentile and allowing 116.2 points per 100 possessions.

The concern for Steve Kerr in the short-term is just how far Golden State will slide in the NBA Western Standings over these next couple of weeks without their Hall of Fame star. The team is already languishing in 10th in the west with a sub-.500 record and their early season woes could put them in serious worry heading into the New Year if they aren’t able to manage without Curry.

Their NBA Playoff Odds still have them ranked among the top contenders but there might be some good value on shopping for some prices on them NOT to make the playoffs should Curry spend more time on the sidelines than anticipated.

Parlay on the Moneyline seems a good bit, but taking them to cover a 7.5 point spread at home in this situation also provides some great value.

This should be a straightforward match up for the 76ers assuming they turn up and perform to their minimum standard. Adding them to a nightly parlay on the Moneyline seems a good bit, but taking them to cover a 7.5 point spread at home in this situation also provides some great value.
