Bucks Hope for Better Effort in Golden State

The Milwaukee Bucks will look to respond from their dismal showing in Houston when they take on the Golden State Warriors back at Fiserv Forum. Here’s our Warriors vs Bucks Betting Analysis as we dive into one of the more intriguing regular season matchups on deck.

The Bucks remain second in the NBA Standings 2022 but will look for a much better effort at both ends of the floor after dropping their last road game against cellar-dwellers Houston. Khris Middleton exited the game with an ankle sprain but is listed probable on the NBA injury report for tonight’s game.

The Warriors put forth their best defensive effort of the season as they shut down the red-hot Celtics to secure an impressive 123-107 win against the best team in the league. Doing so without their best wing defender in Andrew Wiggins made it all the more impressive and they’ll again be without their Canadian All-Star for this one.

The market opened with the Bucks as 4.5-point favorites, while the total has been set at X points.

Warriors Looking Like Old Self

After a turbulent start to the season that saw them linger under .500 and sit outside the play-in picture the Golden State Warriors are finally beginning to play like the team that won it all a season ago.

Their rotations are seemingly cemented and the continuity is beginning to pay dividends for Steve Kerr as his team continues to climb the standings in the West.

Over the past month the Warriors are 9-6 and rank fourth in the league in efficiency differential with a +6.0 net rating. Their defense has returned to being one of the best in the league in that period, ranking 8th in points per possession allowed and 5th in opponent effective field goal percentage.

A lot of that is down to the elevated play from their second unit. Their starters have owned one of the best netratings in the league all season and they continue to execute their duties at both ends of the floor to a high standard – getting steady contributions from the bench has meant the team has been able to play closer to their ceiling.

Stopping Milwaukee is an entirely different prospect to what they faced against Boston and the interior size that the Bucks bring to the table will provide a unique challenge.

Bucks Hope for Positive Injury News

While Middleton has been listed as probable, things might not be so positive for Jrue Holiday. The Bucks point guard has been listed as questionable on the official injury report heading into this game.

In his last six games, Holiday has averaged 23.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists as he shakes off some early season shooting struggles to provide steady contributions behind the All-NBA play from Giannis Antetokounmpo.

While the Bucks are 3-2 in the five games without Holiday this season the team owns a -5.0 point net rating in those games.

Offensively, the Bucks are +11.2 points per 100 possessions better when Holiday is on the floor this season and his +16.6 efficiency differential ranks among the best on/off splits in the league.

The Bucks will sorely miss his defensive presence if he isn’t able to play given what Steph Curry brings to the table. In Curry’s two games against the Bucks last season, he was held to just eight points and 12 points in their two meetings respectively.

Warriors have very much turned a corner and their elite two-way play at present could be too much for Milwaukee to overcome if they’re shorthanded.

Looking at the NBA odds for this game it’s tough to want to bet on Milwaukee until the status of Holiday and Middleton are confirmed. The Warriors have very much turned a corner and their elite two-way play at present could be too much for Milwaukee to overcome if they’re shorthanded.

That wraps up our Warriors vs Bucks Betting Analysis but be sure to check back for more NBA previews.
