Timberwolves Look to End Suns Season Early

Timberwolves vs Suns Spreads, Matchup and More

Timberwolves vs Suns spreads are Minnesota -1.5, a total of 210.5. Minnesota has taken a commanding 3-0 lead in the series, and oddsmakers are expecting them to finish this series off in a clean sweep

Game one consisted of a dominant defensive performance by the league’s best defense. Minnesota bested the Suns 120-95. Minnesota was led by an inspired performance from Anthony Edwards who scored 33 points, nine rebounds, and six assists (and tied the Timberwolves playoff record for points in a quarter with his 18 in the third).

Durant chipped in 31 points for the Suns, but without much help from his fellow stars, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Suns didn’t have enough offensive punch to keep up with the Timberwolves.

Game two was another stingy defensive performance from Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, and the Timberwolves. Holding the Suns to just 93 points in a 105-93 victory, the Wolves went up in the series 2-0. Phoenix lost guard Grayson Allen in this game, injuring his ankle and drastically lowering the Sun’s chances at a series win. They already lacked the depth needed to match the Wolves, and without Allen will need their big three to step up in a big way.

The Sun’s big three did show up in game three, but again it wasn’t enough. Beal, Booker, and Durant all scored 20 or more points. After two subpar games, Beal led the way with 28 points, Durant had 25 and Booker had 23. Their lack of depth was on display however, only having one other player, Eric Gordon, score in double digits.

The Timberwolves controlled the game for the entire second half, likely squashing the Sun’s hope of a postseason run. Once again, Anthony Edwards was magnificent, scoring 36 points, nine rebounds, and five assists and talking the smack that he’s earned. Gobert led the rest of the Timberwolves, with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but outside of those two, four other Timberwolves scored in double digits.

Edwards Steals the Show

After a dominant game one, Anthony Edwards cooled off in game two. The Timberwolves still got the win, and he saved himself for a dazzling display on Friday night. Edwards played a game-high 43 minutes and was spectacular from start to finish.

Edwards has blasted over his points prop in two of the three games this series, as well as his points/rebounds/assists prop. Edwards will be going for the jugular on Sunday, doing his best to give Minnesota the extra days of rest before eventually playing their probable next foe, defending champion Denver Nuggets. Take a look at the Edwards points/rebounds/assists prop on Sunday for what will surely be a fun bet.

Can Durant Hold On?

The Suns getting swept in round one would be a colossal failure. Pairing three stars like Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant comes with high expectations, and being down 3-0 in the first round is way below expectations.

Although not a single Sun has been excelling in this series, and the future Hall-of-Famer Kevin Durant has been a specific disappointment. Durant has scored 31, 18, and 25 points in the three games this series, falling under his points prop in two of the three games. This is not a trend we are expecting to continue in this elimination game on Sunday.

Durant doesn’t want to be embarrassed by getting swept in the first round, and we see him coming out with a heightened desperation on Sunday. Durant will be heavily involved on both ends of the floor, so take a look at his points/rebounds over for Sunday’s game.

Suns Don’t Have Enough

Timberwolves vs Suns spreads are Minnesota -1.5, a total of 210.5. The way Minnesota’s defense has been playing, we expect them to close this series out on Sunday, killing the hopes of all Suns fans. We could see Minnesota coming out firing early, so take a look at the first-half spread for some possible value.
