It looked like business as usual as Illinois rolled to a 30-point win over Northwestern in its first game in 2024 and was toe-to-toe with top-ranked Purdue even without Shannon. There were signs of trouble in a narrow home win against Michigan State before Illinois was held under 70 points for the third time this season in a loss to Maryland.
