Jets vs Bruins Game Odds Preview: Boston Favored
Bruins Nearly Unbeatable at Home, Especially Against Jets

Boston Sports Massive Home Edge Per NHL Odds
In what appears to be a meeting between two of the NHL’s best teams, the Boston Bruins are widely favored. Let’s analyze the Jets vs Bruins game preview.
Consider that Boston is 17-0-2 at home this NHL season and 17-2 in its last 19 games hosting Winnipeg. While the Bruins host the best Jets team they’ve played since 2018-19 (the last time Winnipeg won in Boston), the Jets are missing plenty of key hockey players.

Injury-Riddled Jets to Be Tested By Bruins
It may not seem like it’s affecting them, but the Winnipeg Jets keep losing starters to injuries. Joining the likes of Nikolaj Ehlers (sports hernia) and Blake Wheeler (groin) on the NHL injury report is goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (illness). While it’s a short-term absence, the timing could not be more rotten as Winnipeg visits the NHL-leading Bruins.
It will be harder for the Jets without Hellebuyck although David Rittich has acquitted himself well in his absence. The backup has stopped 66 of the 70 shots he’s faced in Winnipeg’s last two NHL matchups. He was a big factor why Winnipeg blew Ottawa out 5-1 recently. The other would be the likes of Kyle Connor and Josh Morrissey.
“He has elite hockey IQ, that’s what he has,”
“Elite players are one step ahead, that’s what they see.” Jets head coach Rick Bowness said of Morrissey.
Both Connor and Morrissey were responsible for three of Winnipeg’s goals on Tuesday. The pair also extended their point streak to 10 games. Morrissey is enjoying a Norris Trophy-worthy NHL season with 38 points in 32 games. While this seems unsustainable, his elevated play has helped make up for the absence of Ehlers.
But beating up on college football teams like Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks is one thing. Winnipeg’s last losses have come against Seattle, Vegas, and Washington. Boston is 2-0-1 against the latter two.
The Jets edged the Bruins 4-3 in Boston in 2019. Of course, this was when Winnipeg had a stacked blue line with Morrissey playing in the third pairing.
Now he’s the guy and the rest have departed. Winnipeg will have a tough task containing Boston’s second-ranked offense (3.9 goals per game). But the Jets have come through as road underdogs this hockey season.
They are 4-5-1 as one as they look to beat the Jets vs Bruins game preview.
Bruins Remain Nigh-Invincible at Home
The Bruins have only lost at home twice. And both of these losses came in shootouts. The two teams that defeated Boston, Vegas Golden Knight and Los Angeles Kings, needed stellar play from their netminders. Logan Thompson stopped 40 of 43 shots for the Golden Knights while Pheonix Copley made 33 saves from 35 shots.
In both games, Boston outplayed their opponent. It outshot Vegas 43-24 and controlled the puck for 56.1 percent of the game. Against the Kings, the Bruins outshot them 35-30 and edged it on corsi. So even in losses, Boston is playing like the better team.
Even more impressive is how Boston is 13-6 on the puck line in this stretch.
This includes wins of 2+ goals over the likes of Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Colorado Avalanche. Recently, however, home games have been closer than usual. Since the loss to Vegas, the Bruins have covered just one of their last four puck lines heading to Monday’s meeting with Florida.
That game appeared like another puck line waiting to bust as Boston, which jumped out to a 4-0 lead, allowed three unanswered goals from Florida. But the end result was a 7-3 victory.
“There wasn’t a sense of panic,” Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. “But there wasn’t a sense of urgency with our play, either.”If we can learn as we win, it’s better than learning when you lose. But then, the losses will come and we’ll learn better.”
Montgomery has the Bruins playing as the best team on both ends of the ice. He should be the favorite to win the Jack Adams Award on the NHL future odds. But that’s in the distance and Boston will have to handle business against Winnipeg first.
Another emphatic win over a contender as the Jets vs Bruins game preview indicate will further cement their status as the team to beat.
