From +1400 UFL Longshot to 2-0: San Antonio Beating the Odds

UFL Week 3 Odds: Birmingham (-7) Easily Biggest Favorite on Board

Two weeks of the UFL season are already in the books. As expected, Birmingham looks like the team to beat, while Arlington has gotten off to a surprisingly difficult start.

What does Week 3 have in store for bettors? The action kicks off on Saturday, with the Renegades hosting D.C. in a rematch of last year’s XFL championship game.

With that in mind, let’s look closer at the UFL Week 3 odds.

Not much has gone right for Arlington, and there isn’t any reason to believe things will suddenly click over the next few weeks. Arlington is 0-2 since beating D.C. in the XFL title game, and its defense has allowed the most yards of any team in the league.

Luis Perez remains a productive quarterback, but the Renegades may be asking too much of him.

D.C. has struggled as well, but it at least was able to scratch out a win in Week 2. XFL Offensive MVP Jordan Ta’amu threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns in a come-from-behind victory over Houston.

At -1, D.C. is the smallest favorite of Week 3. The Defenders are also -115 on the moneyline, with Arlington -105. Meanwhile, the projected total is 43.

Memphis was on the verge of starting 2-0, but collapsed in the fourth quarter of its 20-19 loss to San Antonio. The Brahmas scored a pair of touchdowns in the final minute, including the game-winner with just three seconds remaining.

How do the Showboats possibly rebound from that?

Their resolve will undoubtedly be tested by Birmingham. At 2-0, the two-time defending USFL champions have quickly asserted themselves as the best UFL team. Their UFL title odds have already climbed from +300 to +190, well ahead of the rest of the pack.

The Stallions have the league’s top two leading rushers in quarterback Adrian Martinez and running back CJ Marable. Matt Corral is the more traditional quarterback in case they want to sling it downfield.

At -7, Birmingham is easily the biggest favorite among UFL Week 3 odds. The Stallions are also -310 on the moneyline, with Memphis +250 to pull off the upset. The projected total is 41.

There’s not a whole lot to get excited about for Houston. The Roughnecks are 0-2 and rank near the bottom of the UFL in both yards and scoring.

On a positive note, at least they were competitive against D.C.

Michigan hasn’t inspired much confidence either, though it did surprisingly beat St. Louis in Week 1. E.J. Perry was sacked seven times last week, so keeping him upright is a concern.

The Panthers are 2-point favorites and -148 on the moneyline, with Houston +124 to win outright. The projected total of 38 is easily the lowest Over/Under among UFL Week 3 odds.

AJ McCarron has been impressive, passing for a league-leading 464 yards and four touchdowns through two weeks. Darrius Shepard (14 rec., 116 yards) and Marcell Ateman (10 rec., 174 yards, 3 TDs) have been his two favorite targets.

Given their offensive upside, the Battlehawks should be contenders. They have the UFL’s second-best outright odds at +425, down a smidge from +350.

At 2-0, San Antonio may be the league’s most surprising team. Chase Garbers has played well, completing a UFL-best 73.8% of his attempts for 443 yards and five touchdowns.

After covering in each of their first two weeks on the 2024 UFL schedule, the Brahmas—who opened as the league’s biggest longshots at +1400—find themselves as 1.5-point underdogs at home. They are also +102 on the moneyline, with St. Louis -122. The Over/Under is 42.
