Steph Curry’s 3-Point Streak Ends at 268 Games
His Streak Dates Back All the Way to 2018, the Longest In NBA History
A Small Blip In Curry’s Career
Warriors star guard Stephen Curry, the greatest long-range shooter of all time, recently experienced the end of an era. His streak of NBA games with at least a 3-pointer made, a showcase of consistent excellence, ended at an impressive 268 games on Sunday.
It all started on December 1, 2018, in Detroit, a date etched in the annals of the NBA as the beginning of the longest 3-point streak in the league’s history.

On a night where the Warriors narrowly secured a 118-114 road victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, Curry faced an uncharacteristic challenge. His 3-point attempts, usually a reliable source of points, simply wouldn’t fall.
Ending the night 0-of-8 from beyond the arc and scoring only seven points on 2-of-12 shooting, Curry’s off-night was a rare sight for fans accustomed to his usual prowess.
For the first time since 2018, Steph Curry came up empty from three.

Despite Curry’s struggles in this Warriors game, this NBA team rallied to clinch the much-needed win. Fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson stepped up with a stellar 28-point performance. Andrew Wiggins who, as NBA news reported, recently lost his spot in the starting lineup, contributed a valuable 25 points and seven rebounds.
Additionally, rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis made a notable impact with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in 18 minutes off the bench, highlighting the depth of the Warriors’ roster.
“We can’t rely on Steph to bail us out on every single night,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr noted after the game. “It was a tough night for him, but that’s what a team is supposed to be about.
Everybody filling in for each other, different guys stepping up each night. That’s a great sign, because he’s carried us for long enough this year. We need to give him more help.”
Looking at the Steph Curry stats this NBA season as a whole, this game stands out as a blip in an otherwise impressive run. Averaging 28 points per game, Curry has continued to be a force on the court.
His rebound and assist numbers are equally impressive, averaging 4.8 and 4.4 respectively. And his shooting percentages? They remain high, with Curry making 46.1 percent of his shots overall and 41.1 percent from the 3-point line.
The end of Curry’s streak is a reminder of the unpredictability of sports. It underscores the fact that even the most skilled athletes can have off days. However, it’s the overall journey and performance that truly define a NBA player’s legacy. For Curry, one game doesn’t diminish the incredible achievements he’s racked up over his career.
For the Warriors and their fans, the focus isn’t on lamenting the end of a streak. Instead, it’s about looking ahead to the next challenge, the next game. The NBA is a league where resilience is key, and the ability to bounce back is more important than any single record.

While Curry’s 3-point streak ending is notable, it’s just a small chapter in his storied career. His influence on theF game, particularly in shooting, remains undisputed.
As Curry and the Warriors continue their journey through the season, they do so with the knowledge that every game offers a new opportunity to make history. For Curry, the end of one streak is perhaps just the beginning of another.
