Minnesota Twins Stats & Team History
The Minnesota Twins were initially founded as the Washington Senators in 1901, playing their first season in the MLB in the league’s inaugural season. While in Washington, the team changed its name to the Nationals from 1905 to 1955 before going back to the Senators. In 1961 the team relocated to Minnesota and wasted no time changing the name to the Twins. Overall, the franchise has won three World Series, one while in Washington and two in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Twins team stats are inconstant before 2000, only having gone to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons once. However, since 2000, they have become more constant, going to the playoffs nine times. Harmon Killebrew dominates most of the Twins team stats for hitters, while Walter Johnson dominates for pitchers
