“I just have to keep improving, keep fighting these top-level fighters, and keep winning. That’s my main goal,” Figueroa told Boxing Junkie. “I know me and Mark will make another great fight. “And if everything goes according to plan, I’ll fight Rey Vargas or whoever wants to fight and go from there.”

Indeed, if he proves the Figueroa vs Magsayo betting odds correct, Figueroa will be a new big dog in a division with the likes of Vargas and Mauricio Lara. Be it here or a division down or up, Figueroa is just getting started. But first, he’ll need to turn Magsayo back.

His opponent knocks boxers out by breaking them until the referee or their corner has to save them. But Magsayo can flatten opponents with his power.

That’s the main reason why the best boxing odds don’t have Magsayo longer than +215. “Power is the great equalizer” as they say and Magsayo may land fewer punches but cause more damage. Still, with the total expected to go over 10.5 rounds (-165), Magsayo will need to do more than punch Figueroa cleanly.

Magsayo will need to go all out and make sure he demolishes Figueroa. His opponent has the speed and reach advantage and can pile up stats at a faster rate. Those betting on boxing should hope Magsayo does not get caught trying to outthink his opponent. Go in there and punch him as he says he will.
