Japanese Star Inoue Headlines Tokyo Boxing Card

Inoue vs Ancajas Boxing Odds

It’s a great boxing card on Saturday in Tokyo, and Inoue vs Ancajas boxing odds headline the night.

Takuma Inoue is the star of the show at 18-1, and he has solid betting support behind him as the -240 favorite behind Jerwin Ancajas.

Of all the boxers on show, the Japanese fighters are favored throughout the night.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Inoue Continuing Family Name

The Inoue family name is prominent in Japanese boxing, and the 28-year-old looks to continue their reign.

He only owns four wins by knockout, so he’s not as dynamic as his brother. However, he has massive upside, and Ancajas has three losses on his record.

Ancajas has more experience than his opponent, and he also has 23 wins by knockout, so he has the power advantage.

He lost consecutive fights to Fernando Daniel Martinez in 2022 before rebounding with a win over 22-12 Wilner Soto, so his recent form is suspect at best.

Bantamweight boxing is in good hands with Inoue and Ancajas, and we expect plenty of movement with Inoue vs Ancajas boxing odds.

Getting -240 for Inoue is a good price, and although Ancajas at +200 also represents value, we’re sticking with the local boxer.

Inoue is on the rise following a quality decision win over Liborio Solis for the vacant WBA World Bantamweight championship.

That belt should remain around his waist on Saturday night at Kokugikan.

Nakatani Tops Undercard

One of the featured undercard fights is Junto Nakatani vs Alexandro Santiago, where Nakatani is the -850 favorite.

Another Japanese fighter, Nakatani, is the current WBO World Super Flyweight champion, and he’s a perfect 26-0 with 19 wins by knockout.

It’s tough to disagree with his record, and he has the clear class advantage over Santiago, who is 28-3-5.

Nakatani won the belt when beating Australian Andrew Moloney in 2023 before defending his belt against Argi Cortes in September.

He has defeated quality boxers throughout his career, and although Santiago is the WBC Bantamweight champion, he faces his biggest challenge yet.

In fairness to the +525 underdog, he comes off a win against Nonito Donaire in Las Vegas, and that can’t be overlooked. That’s a top win, and he’s the second-ranked fighter in the world behind Nakatani.

Taking -850 for Nakatani is too short, so take the him to win by decision at +160. Nakatani, to win by KO, pays -120, which is also too short, in our opinion.

Tanaka to Kick Off Local Title Romp

Kosei Tanaka kicks off the title fights against Christian Rangel when fighting for the vacant WBO World Super Flyweight title.

Tanaka is 19-1 following a TKO victory over Pablo Carrillo. It was a late stoppage, and although it wasn’t his best performance, he’s the -600 favorite to beat Rangel.

He’s eyeing a knockout victory, which should please bettors.

“It would be best if I could get a KO,” said Tanaka, who has won WBO belts in three lighter weight divisions. “I don’t want to win in an anticlimactic showing.”

Rangel is a Mexican fighter at 22-4-2, and he hasn’t been fighting tough opponents over the last few years. His most recent fight came in October when beating a 17-7 fighter.

It’s uninspiring form for a title contender, and we’re not surprised by the boxing odds available for the underdog. He’s a +400 chance to ruin the Japanese party, but we don’t give him much chance.

Tanaka should get the title fights off to a winning start for the locals, so take the short odds on the Inoue vs Ancajas boxing odds card.
