Bayern Munich vs Lazio UCL Odds: Second Leg Decider

Bayern With Backs Against the Wall

Draw Sufficient for Lazio

Bayern Munich head into Tuesday’s match vs. Lazio needing a win just to force extra time. When the two sides met in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, Lazio managed to shut out Bayern and grab a 1-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico. Neither side has been in great form since they met in the middle of February but one side will book a place in the Quarter-final on Tuesday. A draw will be sufficient for Lazio to go through but Bayern will feel they can overturn the deficit at the Allianz Arena. Ahead of this match, let’s check out the Bayern Munich vs Lazio UCL odds.

Munich vs Lazio Head-to-Head

This is the second time the Champions League draw has paired Bayern Munich and Lazio and it will be the fourth meeting all-time. A few weeks ago, Lazio got their first-ever win over Bayern as a Ciro Immobile penalty was the difference in the match. Bayern got off 17 shots in the 1-0 loss but none were on frame. The pregame Bayern Munich vs Lazio UCL odds priced Lazio as +390 underdogs. Back in the 2020-21 round of 16, Bayern won 6-2 on aggregate, including a 2-1 win at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern in Bad Form

Bayern Munich have been one of the most disappointing soccer picks in recent weeks. They’ve conceded in seven straight matches overall and have won just one of their last five. On Friday, Bayern went to SC Freiburg for a Bundesliga match-up but drew 2-2. Granted, Mathys Tel and Jamal Musiala’s goals for Bayern were both individual masterpieces. However, Bayern’s incredible 11-year title streak is at serious risk, with Bayer Leverkusen well ahead of them in the table.

The Champions League could be Bayern Munich’s saving grace this campaign but they do trail Lazio 1-0. Bayern do have an excellent chance to qualify for the Quarter-Final still as a win would force extra time, at the very least. Harry Kane’s goal scoring form has tailed off a fair bit, as the English striker has found the net three times in his last five games.

Even though they’re struggling to get results, Bayern have scored two goals in each of their last three matches. Defense has been a thorn in their side and Dayot Upamecano will be suspended for this match. Leroy Sane, the Bundesliga’s leading assist man, also missed Friday’s match with a groin strain and is questionable here. All of Sane, Serge Gnabry, Noussair Mazraoui, Sacha Boey and Kingsley Coman could miss this one.

Undisciplined Lazio Lose to Milan

Lazio picked up three red cards in Saturday’s 1-0 loss to AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico. Thankfully, none of those suspensions carry over to Tuesday’s Champions League match and will be served in Serie A. While Lazio’s recent record isn’t quite as bad as Bayern’s, the Biancocelesti are just 1-3 in their last four games overall. Their six game scoring streak came to an end on Friday and Lazio missed some excellent chances.

Ciro Immobile is Lazio’s only player with more than four goals this season, in all competitions. Immobile has found the net 10 times but five of those have come on penalties. The Biancocelesti are not a team that create a ton of chances and they’ll need to make the most of their opportunities on Tuesday.

In the group stage, Lazio went 1-2 on the road and their record away from home this season has been rather poor in general. Lazio finished the weekend in ninth place in Serie A, which means they’re at risk of missing out on European competition altogether next season. The Champions League odds price them as +12500 longshots to win the competition.

Munich vs Lazio Match Analysis & Odds

Despite their one goal deficit, Bayern Munich are still -260 favorites to advance to the Quarter-Final. They’ve progressed out of the round of 16 in each of the last four seasons. Meanwhile, Lazio are +210 underdogs to hold on to their lead. Notably, the Biancocelesti have never made it to the Champions League Quarter-Final.

Bayern are massive -400 favorites to win the match on Tuesday and Bayern -1.5 comes in at -130 odds. If Bayern manage to cover, they’ll advance directly to the Quarters. The Bavarians are expected to put it all together come matchday but they’ve been highly disappointing as of late. Lazio don’t need to win to advance and they are +1050 underdogs to get their first-ever win at the Allianz Arena.

A draw would be a historic result for the visitors and one is priced at +515. An early Bayern goal could open the floodgates but the Bayern Munich vs Lazio UCL odds list Bayern under 2.5 goals at -145. Plus, under three goals display -115 odds for the match.
