2024 Miami Grand Prix Odds: Sprint event odds

Pole position

  • Max Verstappen (-300)

Verstappen’s swept Grand Prix pole position in all five races this season. The last race featured someone else starting on pole position, though, due to mixed conditions in China.

There’s no such worry about rain this weekend in Miami, per the latest forecasts. Verstappen’s the favorite for pole position for both the Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying sessions for good reason.

  • Sergio Pérez (+600)

Pérez earned his third career pole position at this track last season. Miami’s been a good venue for him so far as one of the newer events on the schedule.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

That track record keeps him close over one lap in Formula 1 betting for pole position here. If you want a flyer on a surprise non-Verstappen polesitter, Pérez is a good option.

  • Lando Norris (+1400)

McLaren wasn’t expecting Norris’ shock sprint pole position in China, and they may be even more surprised by a sprint pole position here. The Miami circuit is more rear-limited, and those tracks haven’t been strong for the McLaren package this year. This could be a challenging weekend for the team.

  • Charles Leclerc (+1400)

Leclerc hasn’t stood on the podium since Australia. He’s still third in the current F1 standings thanks to finishing at least fourth in every race form this year. Leclerc’s one-lap prowess is undeniable, and he earned pole position here in 2022. The Ferrari should be solidly the second-best package this weekend. He could surprise on Friday.

Sprint race winner

Verstappen (-600) is the overwhelming favorite here, as he should be. Even when he started the sprint race farther down the order in China, Verstappen built a big lead en route to sprint victory.

There’s very little reason to think he won’t do that again.

Sprint race podium

Verstappen (-800) is again a lock for the podium. Here’s who could join him in the top three:

  • Pérez (-250)

Given his track record in Miami, Pérez should be in contention for a podium finish in both races.

There’s an outside chance he struggles in the first qualifying session of the weekend which could drop him down the order but it’s unlikely.

  • Norris (+125)

After a surprisingly strong run in China, oddsmakers like Norris to continue his recent run of Formula 1 results. McLaren being right behind the Red Bulls this weekend would be a surprise.

  • Leclerc (+160)

Given his track record here, Leclerc should be in for a better result than in China. That could include a podium finish on Saturday’s sprint race.

  • Carlos Sainz (+240)

Sainz saw his streak of podium finishes come to an end in China with fifth in both the sprint and Grand Prix races. He finished fifth in Miami last year and third in 2022.

He could use a strong result to regain the good momentum from the opening four rounds. Could it be in the sprint race? Potentially.

2024 Miami Grand Prix Odds:Grand Prix event odds

Pole position

  • Verstappen (-350)

It’s very, very likely that Miami at least plays out like China. Verstappen may see a surprise in sprint qualifying, but it’s much less likely to happen in Grand Prix qualifying.

  • Pérez (+600)

He’s started on pole position before but Verstappen looks even more untouchable than in prior years. It’s possible but very unlikely that Pérez is the one to dethrone Verstappen in Grand Prix qualifying.

  • Leclerc (+1400)

Leclerc’s odds aren’t great. He’s been solid but unspectacular in qualifying in 2024 to this point. He may have a better shot in regular qualifying than sprint qualifying, thanks to having more time on the track.

Grand Prix winner

Verstappen (-600) is the favorite once again. He’s already had a mechanical issue, so take him out of a Grand Prix in 2024, and that likely won’t happen again. He’ll likely be far enough ahead of the rest to keep out of trouble as well.

Podium finish

Verstappen (-1000) is a heavy favorite for the podium, and a familiar group of drivers could join him.

  • Pérez (-400)

The extra laps in the Grand Prix compared to the sprint race could ensure Pérez makes it to the top three, even with a potential issue in qualifying.

He’s more susceptible to traffic than Verstappen but the Red Bull package should be good enough in race trim to negate any issues.

  • Leclerc (+150)

Leclerc’s likely in for a strong weekend and that should bleed into the Grand Prix race. But the longer race does introduce more variables than the sprint.

A safety car is likely at some point, given the track format. He’s more often than not out-performed his teammate over their time at Ferrari. That hasn’t come to fruition in 2024. Yet.

  • Sainz (+175)

Sainz could be the better option for a Grand Prix podium than Leclerc. He’s consistently had pace this season except for China and could capitalize better on opportunities during the race.

  • Norris (+160)

Norris isn’t a bad option in the Grand Prix, either. He’s on a great run lately, and McLaren could capitalize again to the tune of a top-three result.

2024 Miami Grand Prix Odds: Predictions for the weekend

Miami’s just the second sprint race of the season. It’s one of just two street races for the next 11 events on the calendar. That makes it a unique challenge over three days.

In the sprint portion of the weekend, Verstappen will sweep pole position and the win. Pérez and Leclerc join him on the podium. In the Grand Prix portion of the weekend, Verstappen takes pole position and win again but Pérez and Sainz join him on the podium.
