The Farmers Insurance Open: Jon Rahm, Two Wins Two Starts in 2023
Can Anyone Beat the Spaniard Superstar?

The Farmers Insurance Open features the best golfing field we have seen in 2023 and it’s headlined by Jon Rahm.
Rahm hasn’t lost in either of his two PGA Tour appearances in 2023, and he’s the overwhelming favorite to win this week’s Farmers Insurance Open. It comes as no surprise to see him as one of the favorites to win the PGA.
The Spanish player is quoted at +390 to win, which is the lowest odds we have seen in some time.

Three on the Bounce?
Rahm won The American Express with a one-shot victory at La Quinta, making it consecutive wins after taking out the Golf Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.
He is playing the best golf of anyone in the world and the +390 Farmers Insurance Open suggests that he will be tough to beat again.
He showed poise when winning last week and he’s clearly in the zone.
“I think today was about as comfortable as I’ve been in a long time on the golf course, tee to green,” said Rahm.
“Every time I felt like this in the past, I’ve ended up going on to win, just because it takes a lot of pressure off a lot of parts of my game, knowing that basically I’m going to hit the shot that I’m envisioning. And that’s a really unique zone to put yourself in.”
Golf betting stats show that Rahm’s odds have shortened throughout the year. He paid +600 last week and those odds have been trimmed for the Farmers Insurance Open.
We expect Rahm to be fighting out the finish on Sunday.
Spaun Eyes Upset
Although J.J. Spaun isn’t the golfer everyone is talking about, the American has recently been playing well and is outperforming expectations.
Given that he placed T12 at the Sony US Open and T5 at the Tournament of Champions, he can’t be ignored and the +5000 to win The Farmers Insurance Open is an excellent value price.
Spaun started the year in Hawaii when finishing just five strokes behind Rahm. He shot -4 in the final round, which wasn’t enough to hold off the rampant Spaniard.
The champion of the 2022 Texas Valero Open Championship was confident, and thinks he can win this year, starting with The Farmers Insurance Open.
“I knew I could win out here on Tour. When I first got out here, I was playing really good and then obviously had a setback two years ago,” Spaun said. “It’s just perseverance, just trying to push through and just stay strong.”
Include Spaun in your golf picks because he’s at a fantastic price.
Momentum with Schauffele
With a final round score of -10 in his American Express tournament, Schauffele can feel very confident going into the Farmers Insurance Open.
Although the 29-year-old can be frustrating at times for bettors, he consistently finishes towards the top of the leaderboard.
It was a nice comeback effort after the American had to withdraw from the Tournament of Champions, so he has clearly overcome his injury niggle.
The seven-time PGA Tour winner opened at +1200 and those odds have been specked into +1100. It’s a solid betting move for the American, who is one of the best players in the world and he shouldn’t be overlooked.
His odds could firm to around +1000 throughout the week. Collin Morikawa is currently the second favorite but Schauffele is the second best player in the field and his odds should reflect that.
