Can Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers End New York’s 8-Game Winning Streak?

The Indiana Pacers vs NY Knicks Odds Have Released For Thursday!

The Indiana Pacers will head to New York to take on the Knicks in the second of a three-game regular season series.

At home, the Pacers added a win over the Knicks in late December, 140-126. Now, the Knicks will look to do the same on their home floor.

Indiana’s three-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday after a 129-124 loss to the Celtics. The Pacers welcomed back Tyrese Haliburton, and while he started, he was still on a minutes restriction due to his hamstring injury.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

His minutes restriction won’t be lifted against the Knicks or anytime soon.

On the other hand, the Knicks have won eight straight games and are now No. 3 in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics and Bucks.

New York lost Julius Randle for a couple of weeks due to a dislocated shoulder and has been playing without OG Anunoby for a couple of games as he tries to recover from an elbow injury.

Randle is out for this game. However, Anunoby is questionable.

That said, the Knicks are -4 (-105) at home, with the total currently sitting at 238.

Indiana Pacers vs NY Knicks Odds & Trends

The Pacers have won 27 games straight up and have also won 27 games against the spread. Indiana is 27-18-3 against the spread this season and has hit the Over in 28 of 48 games this year.

The Pacers have gone just 11-13 on the road, which isn’t a good sign for this NBA matchup. The Knicks are 17-5 at home and have covered 28 of 48 games this season. However, unlike the Pacers, they’ve hit the Under in 28 of 40 matchups.

Indiana has defeated the Knicks in two consecutive games dating back to last year’s matchup in 2023. However, a lot has changed since those two games. The Knicks have become one of the most feared NBA teams in the Eastern Conference.

Are The Pacers Better With Pascal Siakam?

The Indiana Pacers saw success in the NBA In-Season Tournament and realized they had something. After Tyrese Haliburton went down, the Pacers elected to bring in Pascal Siakam from the Raptors to be one of the franchise’s best NBA players.

Since joining the Pacers, Siakam has averaged 21.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. He also has a true shooting percentage of 62.3%.

We haven’t seen Siakam play a lot of minutes with Haliburton. But in 41 minutes, the offensive rating has jumped to 147.2 points per 100 possessions. They’ve outscored their opponents by 33.9 points per 100 possessions.

As Haliburton gets healthier, the Pacers will be tough to guard when these two are out on the floor.

The Most Wins In A Month Since 1994

The Knicks are a little short handed right now.

But you wouldn’t know it.

Without Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, the Knicks have earned back-to-back double-digit wins. Those two wins have helped the Knicks win eight straight games in January.

In January, the Knicks exploded to the No. 3 seed in the East and aren’t far from the Milwaukee Bucks for second place.

Jalen Brunson has been as consistent as ever. But in every game, another player steps up and does their job.

Against the Jazz, the Knicks got big minutes from Precious Achiuwa and Josh Hart. Hart earned a triple-double for the first time in his career, and Achiuwa showed off his potential with 18 points, five rebounds, and two blocks in 40 minutes.

New York is deep. And they’re good. This is the first time Knicks fans have been seriously excited about a team since the 1990s.

Starting February Off Right

The New York Knicks will have a more significant challenge against the Pacers. Indiana is the No. 1 offense in the NBA, and with Siakam and Haliburton both active, that offense will continue to produce at high levels.

Luckily for New York, the Knicks have minimized teams from getting to the foul line and have held opponents to 25% of offensive rebounds, which is the best rate in the NBA.

The Pacers shoot a very high effective field goal percentage. But they don’t get to the foul line often. The defense will do its part as long as the Knicks can get the Pacers slightly out of rhythm offensively.

On the other hand, the Pacers have struggled defensively, allowing 120.8 points per 100 possessions. This is why many games for the Pacers go Over the total. Opponents have shot an effective field goal percentage of nearly 57% against the Pacers and grabbed more than 29% of offensive rebounds per game against Indiana.

The Knicks are the best at earning offensive rebounds and should add a lot of second chances. New York will also see the foul line more consistently, with the Pacers allowing a 24.5 free throw rate. That’s the worst free throw rate in the NBA.

The Knicks will have no problems scoring. However, despite being one of the best offenses in the NBA, the Pacers will. If Indiana can’t earn second chances or get to the foul line, they won’t beat the Knicks in this game.

The Knicks keep rising up the NBA Championship odds. They’re also currently a third seed in the NBA Playoffs standings. We may get a Knicks-Pacers playoff series in the future. But for now, with OG Anunoby potentially back in the Knicks NBA starting lineups, we’ll back the Knicks at -5 (-105) after looking at the Indiana Pacers vs NY Knicks odds.
