The return of Morant has reinvigorated the Grizzlies, who ride a three-game winning streak ahead of Tuesday’s game.
They kicked things off with a 115-113 win over the Pelicans, so having recent success on the board is ideal. They then defeated the Pacers and Hawks, which is more excellent form.
Looking to rise the NBA West standings are the 9-19 Grizzlies, who couldn’t have started any worse, but there’s still plenty of time for them to get back in the mix.
Morant has been tremendous since returning from a lengthy ban, and it looks like he hasn’t lost a step. Of course, he didn’t miss time due to injury, so apart from a bit of rust, there shouldn’t be any excuses.
It helps having Desmond Bane, who averages 25.1 points per game. His stock has risen in Morants’ absence, and he adds another layer of offense.
“There’s definitely more spirit when you win games,” Bane said. “It is just natural. We’re definitely feeling good about where we’re at and we’ve got more players coming back to keep it going.”
