Magic With Chance to Pull Off Divisional Win Over Heat

There's Only One Appealing Bet When Looking At The NBA Southeast Division Odds

The Southeast Division is a two-team race heading into the second half of the NBA season.

The Miami Heat have underperformed this season. However, they’re still tied for first place with the Orlando Magic with 30 wins and 25 losses.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

The Heat have dominated the other teams in the division, they also made a strong move before the NBA Deadline, adding Terry Rozier for an added boost. Again, no other team made a significant move to help them in the future.

Therefore, the Heat have the highest probability of winning the division. But the Orlando Magic are tied and have all of the potential to win it, too.

Let’s take a look at the current NBA Southeast Division odds below.

NBA Southeast Division Odds

Atlanta Hawks42.5+6600
Charlotte Hornets31.5N/A
Washington Wizards24.5N/A

Heat logo Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are tied with the Orlando Magic in the NBA Southeast Division. The Heat are 30-25 but have a winning record on the road.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler hasn’t played for the Heat in a game since February 7 with personal issues. The Heat also acquired Terry Rozier from the Hornets earlier in the year. But he’s currently got a knee injury and is week-to-week.

Luckily, Rozier avoided a severe knee injury. But he’ll be out for at least another week.

The Heat don’t have a ton of depth right now. They’re starting Caleb Martin and Nikola Jovic, who each scored no more than eight points in their last game. Jaime Jaquez Jr. has been good off the bench. But it’s ultimately Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo leading the way.

The Heat will be better when they get Butler and Rozier back. For now, they’re just fighting to stay at the top over the Magic.

Magic logo Orlando Magic

The Magic have a lower probability of winning the division against the Heat despite having the same record.

Orlando has been one of the best surprises in the NBA this season. They had a projected win total of 36.5 at the start of the season and already have 30 wins, 55 games into the year.

The Magic are led by Paolo Banchero, who just made the NBA All-Star Game. They’ve also got Franz Wagner, who has added more than 21 points per game. Those two have been difference makers for the Magic to help lead them into contention for the division.

The Magic are terrific at home but haven’t had the same success on the road. Meanwhile, Orlando is also just 6-5 against divisional teams. The Heat are 11-2, which is another reason why Miami is in front of Orlando on the NBA odds board.

The Magic didn’t make any moves at the NBA Trade Deadline. While Orlando has depth, another trade would have benefitted the Magic.

Hawks logo Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks were supposed to be better than the Magic this season. However, the year hasn’t gone as planned for the Hawks.

Atlanta is 24-31 and six NBA games away from the Heat and Magic in the Southeast standings.

The Hawks have a losing record at home and on the road but are 6-6 in divisional play, which at least gives them some kind of optimism.

Atlanta also has two terrific NBA players between, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Both have averaged more than 21 points per game and at least 35 minutes a night. But those two haven’t had much help. The rest of the Hawks have been a little more inconsistent.

Meanwhile, center Clint Capela has a groin injury, which has kept him out of games recently.

It’s unlikely the Hawks will do enough damage to win the division. But they’re still fighting and playing hard to at least compete in the Play-In Tournament.

Hornets logo Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets traded away their best player, Terry Rozier, to the Miami Heat in a divisional trade. It’s rare to see that, but right now, the Hornets have other plans in mind. They’re not worried about this year.

They’re worried about the future.

The Hornets got 30 games out of Terry Rozier and he’s been on the Heat for a month. Meanwhile, they’ve gotten just 22 games out of LaMelo Ball, who is easily the team’s best player. He’s been hurt multiple times this season.

When he’s not injured, he’s typically on a minute restriction. Ball was dominating when healthy, but the issue for Ball is he can’t stay healthy.

That said, the Hornets have won three straight games with Grant Williams and Tre Mann on the roster. Both players came from bad situations with their former teams but have flourished in Charlotte with bigger roles.

The Hornets made some moves at the deadline and seem to have put together a roster that plays well with one another.

It’s a little too late this year. However, the Hornets could be trending in the right direction.

Wizards logo Washington Wizards

It’s no surprise that Washington Wizards don’t have any NBA Southeast Division odds right now. The NBA predictions were right. The Wizards have had a terrible season after signing Jordan Poole to a long-term deal.

The Wizards only have nine games this season and have only won two divisional games all year. Funny enough, Washington has just three home wins this season, with six other wins coming on the road.

Don’t even think about adding the Wizards in your NBA picks and parlays. We don’t even care if they are one of the only NBA games today when you’re betting. Stay away from the Wizards!
