Warriors Tipped to Beat Battling Grizzlies

Warriors vs Grizzlies Preview

We have a Warriors vs Grizzlies preview for the big Western Conference showdown on Friday night.

The Golden State Warriors are four games below .500, which isn’t a position we’re used to seeing from one of the most successful franchises in recent history.

Memphis is doing well to hang around despite its injuries, but it has a terrible record at home. That’s the big concern ahead of this key NBA game.

Time to Make a Move

As the NBA power rankings suggest, the Warriors need to start proving their worth.

They are 20-24 following a 119-107 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, which was a good performance. However, it followed an overtime loss to the Lakers and a one-point loss to the Warriors.

Losing close games isn’t like the Warriors, who also lost to the Grizzlies 116-107 last week. Despite that loss, the Warriors are -6 favorites in the rematch, but they’ll need to play a lot better.

Having Steph Curry and Klay Thompson at your disposal is an asset. There have been critics calling them old, which is a fair case for Thompson, but Curry is still averaging 27.5 points per game.

Green’s return has also been big, and coach Steve Kerr welcomed him back.

“Draymond really changed things with his return because he connects those guys at both ends of the floor, just with his communication defensively and the way he helps get us organized offensively,” Kerr said. “Great to see Wiggs and JK both playing so well and playing well together. It’s fun, you can see the team we’re shifting a little bit with how we’re playing and who we’re playing.”

The NBA playoff standings could get too far away from the Warriors with a loss, so it’s an important regular season contest.

Our Warriors vs Grizzlies preview expects the Warriors to play better, but covering a -6 spread on the road isn’t easy.

Grizz Better Positioned than Warriors

Despite having a worse record, the Grizzlies are fourth in their division, compared to the Warriors being last in theirs.

NBA injuries have made life tough for the Grizzlies, who are without Ja Morant, having already lost and subsequently traded Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets.

News broke on Thursday that Adams was traded for Victor Oladipo, but Oladipo’s availability is in question.

However, despite not having them on the court, the Grizzlies have won some recent games against the Heat, Magic, and Raptors. They’re not easy teams to beat, so the likes of Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart have stepped up.

The biggest concern is about their lack of wins at home. Having single-digit home wins is worrying, and they’re ATS mark at home is just as bad.

Having already beaten the Warriors should give them confidence, especially when it comes to covering a +6 spread. That’s a sizable number for the home side, so they can’t be discounted.

Warriors Come Up with Goods

Our Warriors vs Grizzlies preview has the Warriors winning and covering the spread.

They are desperate for a win, and playing the injury-riddled Grizzlies is a perfect spot to play them.

The Grizzlies have played well despite not having their most dynamic player, but with Curry, Thompson, and Green on the floor, we expect nothing less than a top-level performance from the visitors.

Over 223 is also being included in our NBA picks. Based on the Warriors’ recent offense, they should have plenty of scoring opportunities, and we just need the Grizzlies to keep up their end of the bargain.
