Brock Bowers NFL Draft Odds High For Top TE

Georgia Junior A Surefire First-Round Selection

With so many teams targeting quarterbacks at the top of the NFL Draft this season, the need for pass catchers will also be a focus for teams, especially those with a pair of first-round picks.

One of the highly acclaimed pass catchers in this class is Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, who is universally acknowledged as the top player at his position in this draft class.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Bowers, who came out after his junior season with the Bulldogs, is 6-4, 240. He can block like a tight end but run routes and catch the ball like a slot receiver.

His NFL draft odds have been high ever since he declared himself eligible to be selected on April 25.

The Brock Bowers NFL Draft odds are extremely good, so let’s take a closer look at why he’s wanted by so many NFL teams and where he might end up.

Bowers A Key Cog To Bulldogs’ Success

Bowers was an impact player from the moment he stepped on the University of Georgia campus, helping the Bulldogs to back-to-back national titles in his first two NCAAF seasons with the team. As a freshman, Bowers showed his potential immediately, making 56 catches for 882 yards (15.8 yards per catch) and scoring 13 times.

He had 63 catches for 942 yards and seven scores in 2022, then dealt with an ankle NFL injury that required surgery in the middle of the 2023 campaign. He came back quickly, though, finishing with 56 catches for 714 yards and six touchdowns.

Bowers is big but also fast, as shown by his receiving touchdowns of 89 and 78 yards at Georgia, as well as a rushing touchdown of 75 yards in his sophomore season.

It’s that kind of versatility that has NFL teams seeing him as more than just playing at tight end on the line, but rather split out in the slot to create some favorable matchups.

Where Will Bowers End Up?

The consensus among experts’ mock drafts is that Bowers will be gone by the middle of the first round. In fact, on both FanDuel and DraftKings, there are no odds posted for Bowers being a first-round pick because his place of being selected on the first day of the draft is so certain.

There are also no NFL draft odds listed for the first tight end taken on either sportsbook, only the second tight end taken. That’s because Bowers, who isn’t listed among the options for second tight end taken, is so far and above everyone else at his position.

As far as which team will select Bowers, the New York Jets seem to be the consensus favorite among mock drafts and the sportsbooks. As New York tries to climb back up the national football standings with the return to health of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, it is looking for offensive weapons that are ready to contribute from day one. That’s a perfect description of Bowers.

FanDuel has the Jets at +185 to take Bowers in the first round. New York currently holds the No. 10 pick. Another team that is looking hard at Bowers is the Indianapolis Colts, who have +300 to select the tight end.

Other teams listed among the odds to select Bowers are the Los Angeles Charges at +850, the Chicago Bears at +1000, and the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos, both at +1100.

Other Betting Odds To Ponder

With the Jets holding the No. 10 pick, FanDuel has Bowers at +210 to be the 10th pick of the draft. The sportsbook’s over/under odds for Bowers’ selection are set at 12.5, with -114 odds on both sides of that wager.

DraftKings has a bit better odds for Bowers going at No. 10, putting him at +150, the best of any player. He’s also listed at +100 odds to be a pick anywhere in the top 10. The sportsbook has an over/under for Bowers’ selection as 12.5, with the under getting -145 odds and the over +115.

Wherever Bowers is selected and by whichever team, there is little doubt that he’s going to make an impact in the NFL. It will not surprise anyone if he is one of the rookies you’re hearing about a lot on the NFL live scoreboard come this fall.
