Bruins Continue Road Trip in Pacific Northwest Against Kraken

The Boston Bruins (34-12-13, 81 points) finish up their successful road trip with a clash with the Seattle Kraken (24-22-11, 59 points) who are trying to claw their way into a wild card spot.

The Bruins are 1-0-2 on the 4-game trip after beating the Edmonton Oilers and then taking a point from the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames. Boston is up by one point over the Florida Panthers in the Atlantic Divison while the Kraken trail the Nashville Predators by seven points for the last wild card spot.

Bruins In A Peculiar Spot

The Bruins have been on the right side of most hockey scores over the last two-plus seasons but all they have to show for it is a President’s Trophy and two first-round playoff exits. Boston is once again having a terrific regular season, but there is talk about a blockbuster deal that would send goaltender Linus Ullmark out of Beantown.

No matter what the Bruins do at the trade deadline it appears that Ullmark is the carrot that might allow Boston to put band-aids on other areas of need. Boston needs another defenseman and would like to get stronger down the middle.

We don’t think that will happen unless the Bruins get a boatload in return but without upcoming quality draft picks, Boston will have to look to move guys on their current roster.

For all their success in the win/loss column, bettors have not shared in that because Boston is usually a big favorite. The B’s are -3.59 units this NHL season and -4.85 units as a favorite. Boston is 28-31 to the under in 2023-24.

Kraken Hope Start Another Point Streak

When the Kraken’s 4-game point streak came to an end against the Minnesota Wild, you could feel that the streak was nice but they need a much longer run to track down the Nashville Predators.

Boston may not be the ideal team to start a streak against but with a challenging schedule ahead that includes a game against the Edmonton Oilers, and Vegas Golden Knights, and two against the Winnipeg Jets in their next five NHL games, a loss tonight would start to hammer in the season death knell.

With Seattle down 9.46 units this season, only four other NHL teams have lost more money for the public. As a dog, Seattle is 13-23 (-6.16 units), 25th in the NHL. As a home dog, the Kraken is just 4-10 (-5.05 units).

Ullmark Gets The Start Against Daccord

Boston’s Linus Ullmark (16-6-5) will get to show off some to potential buyers when he gets the start opposite of Joey Daccord (16-12-10) for the Kraken. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner has dropped four straight games for the B’s, but two of those were in overtime and one in overtime.

Ullamrk has allowed just 12 goals in his last five games. Daccord hasn’t been as effective with a 1-4-1 record in his last six starts, allowing 16 goals over his last six. So far, 70% of the money is coming in on the over along with 64% of the tickets.

That has pushed to juice up some after opening -110. Our official NHL prediction is under 5.5. We think this number will start where it is but we may see the juice as high as -120 by puck drop. That doesn’t it for our Bruins vs Kraken lines preview, we wish you all the best with your NHL picks and parlays tonight.
