Starting goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed six goals on 22 shots faced in 40 minutes of play before being replaced by Jonas Johansson, who made five saves on eight shots faced in the third period.
Tampa Bay forward Brandon Hagel scored 24 seconds into the start of the game, for his 20th goal of the year, before the Panthers scored nine straight, four of the tallies coming in the first period, and three pairs of Florida goals were scored within a minute apart from the other.
The Lightning will just have to throw that last game in the trash and focus on their opponent tonight in Ottawa, who has struggled mightily on the road, going just 4-11 in their last 15 games as a visitor.
