Udinese in Relegation Fight
Inter Milan took another step toward winning the Scudetto when they defeated Empoli 2-0 on Monday. On the same day, Udinese managed a draw at Sassuolo to go three points clear of the relegation zone. While Inter most likely just need to win a few more games to win the Serie A title, Udinese may need to do the same just to avoid relegation.
The two sides face off in Serie A on Monday in Udine with Inter looking for their 12th win in their last 13 league games. As the Nerazzurri inch forward toward the Scudetto, we’ll cover the Udinese vs Inter Milan lines.

The Udinese vs Inter Milan lines almost always tend to favor Inter in this fixture. That’s in part because Inter Milan have lost just one of their last 12 games on the Serie A schedule vs Udinese. Inter fell at the Bluenergy Stadium last season and the Nerazzurri are 2-2-1 in their last five games in Udine.
Over the last six meetings of this fixture, Inter Milan have averaged nearly three goals per game.
Udinese Missing Leading Scorer
In a match between teams in the relegation fight, Udinese went to Sassuolo on Monday. The Neroverdi got on the scoresheet first, through Gregoire Defrel. However, Udinese responded quickly as some good interplay between Roberto Pereyra and Florian Thauvin led to the latter equalizing before halftime.
The score remained tied at one and Udinese went back to Friuli with a point. Udinese are currently in 14th place in the Serie A standings, just three points outside of the relegation zone.
They’ve won just one of their last six games but their most recent wins have been vs top half opposition. The Friulani defeated Juventus in February and Lazio in March for their only win in either month. In fact, Udinese have won just two of their 12 matches in 2024 but they need as many points as they can get in the coming weeks.
Strangely, three of Udinese’s four Serie A wins this season have come on the road.
At home, they’ve drawn more often than not, with a 1-9-5 record. Udinese’s leading scorer this season, Lorenzo Lucca, is out this weekend due to a suspension. That means Udinese will rely even more on Thauvin, who has managed three goal contributions in his last four matches. Bettors should note Udinese have conceded in each of their last six Serie A games.
Four Wins Will Seal Scudetto for Inter
Inter Milan need to win just four of their remaining eight matches to clinch the 2023-24 Serie A title. Of course, the Nerazzurri could clinch before then if second-placed AC Milan slip up as well. Betting on Inter’s outright Serie A odds is now closed as they’re widely expected to win the Scudetto. Inter have been, by far, the most dominant team in Italy this season.
They’re outscoring their opponents by nearly two goals per game and have scored the most goals in Serie A and conceded the fewest.
Even as number one keeper Yann Sommer got a rest on Monday vs Empoli, Emil Audero kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 Nerazzurri victory. Federico Dimarco and Alexis Sanchez were on target in Inter’s 25th win of the season. Inter are also unbeaten in their last 24 Serie A matches and are an unbeaten 12-2-0 on the road.
Until Inter officially clinch the title, expect them to play with the same motivation they have all season.
Inter’s captain Lautaro Martinez hasn’t scored in any of his last four matches overall but the Argentine is still Serie A’s leading scorer. Martinez and Thuram have been key attacking pieces but the Nerazzurri have been one of the most balanced teams in Europe this season.
Alessandro Bastoni’s driving runs forward from defense have been a joy to watch and the midfield trio of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Nicolo Barella has been superb. At the moment, just Stefan De Vrij and Juan Cuadrado are injured.
Match Analysis & Odds
Udinese did manage to beat Inter Milan at home last season but this isn’t the same Nerazzurri side. They’ve played with supreme confidence in Serie A this season and go into every match with the belief they can blow their opponent away. Here, visitors Inter are -220 favorites according to the latest Udinese vs Inter Milan lines. Udinese come in as +550 underdogs and even coming away with a point would be massive for the hosts.
Bettors can back Udinese +1, +1.5 at -120 odds, while Inter -1, -1.5 sits at even odds. In their last five home matches, Udinese are 0-3-2 with four goals scored but Udinese over 0.5 goals does come in at -140 odds. A draw (+370) is not what Inter are looking for but it wouldn’t remotely be close to the end of the world.
Under 2.5, 3 goals are priced -115 odds here but it wouldn’t be surprising if Inter score three on their own.
With Martinez out of form over the last few weeks, expect him to be aggressive from the get go. It’s possible he could fail to score for the rest of the season and still win the Golden Boot but he’s not one to rest on his laurels. This is a match Inter should win, especially with Lucca out for Udinese, and it would reduce the Nerazzuri’s magic number to three.
