Italy’s biggest intercity soccer rivalry returns on Sunday as Juventus host Inter Milan in the first Derby d’Italia of the season. These two bitter rivals also happen to be Serie A’s top two teams heading into the weekend. Inter Milan are in first place, two points ahead of Juventus, who are on a five-game winning streak. Inter are looking to become just the second team in the last two months to score vs. the Bianconeri. Three center backs scored in Juventus’ 2-1 win over Cagliari a couple of weekends ago. Filip Kostic was involved in both goals for the Bianconeri. In the 60th minute, the left-footed midfielder sent in an excellent free kick that Gleison Bremer headed home. Ten minutes later, Kostic whipped in a corner that Daniele Rugani bundled over the line with his torso.
Cagliari defender Alberto Dossena also scored a header to make things interesting but Juve got their fifth straight Serie A win. The Bianconeri have the league’s longest active winning streak and have conceded just one goal in their last seven games. With a 9-2-1 Serie A record, Juventus have been a solid pick for soccer betting this season.
Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny came under fire for some of his early-season performances but he’s been an integral part of Juventus’ success. Max Allegri’s appear to have benefited from a lack of European football this season but the injury bug certainly hasn’t spared them.

While Juventus are on a five-game winning streak in Serie A, Inter Milan have managed to win six straight, in all competitions. Inter have taken Serie A by storm this season and are 10-1-1 heading into Matchday 13. Their recent Serie A scores have been excellent, as they’ve won their last four matches in the league. In the process, they’ve outscored their opponents 8-1.
Simone Inzaghi’s team defeated Frosinone 2-0 before the international break and Inter’s Federico Dimarco scored a brilliant goal from near the halfway line. After Marcus Thuram won a penalty on a solo run, Hakan Calhanoglu doubled Inter’s lead. Inter players are still dominating the Serie A leaderboards as well.
Lautaro Martinez leads the league with 12 goals, Thuram has provided a Serie A best eight assists and Yann Sommer has kept eight clean sheets. League leaders Inter have also posted a +23 goal difference through 12 matches. The Nerazzurri have won all five of their Serie A road matches so far this season and are looking like strong title favorites.
