Sergio Perez’s lackluster performance at Red Bull this F1 season has increased pressure on him to retain his position, with Daniel Ricciardo being considered a potential successor.
Laughable, right?
I mean, sure, the Mexican had a disappointing season, as he once again ended in second place behind his teammate Max Verstappen for the second consecutive year. But when you’re being compared to Max, every racer had a disappointing season!
But the headline at the top of this article is the narrative we’re now faced with. I disagree, and to be honest, what will Ricciardo do in the Red Bull Racing No.2 seat? I’d love one of these click-baiting F1 news journalists to explain that instead of taking a small fragment from a comment made with minimal context and running wild.

In layman’s, the Aussie driver went on a podcast and expressed his desire to race for Red Bull, and now, he’s allegedly gunning for Perez’s seat. Let’s cut the bullsh*t; who wouldn’t love to race in the most dominant car in F1?
Aside from soccer rumors, F1 rumors and its journalists are up there with some of the biggest click-baiters. The season is over; there’s no relevant news, so what’s the answer? Simply create news from thin air.
Checo’s Solid Role at Red Bull
There’s absolutely no suggestion that Red Bull would be interested in replacing Checo, and certainly not with Ricciardo. And before I hear, “But Ricciardo was Red Bull’s reserve driver earlier this year,” just stop; the man hasn’t done anything relevant during an F1 race since 2016, when he finished third in the F1 standings.
Perez’s points accumulation contributed to Red Bull securing their second consecutive constructors title in yet another year of team dominance. Or are we just going to neglect this fact?
Do people realize that a team cannot have two champions? And Red Bull’s No.2, Perez, finished second in the Drivers’ Championship FFS.
Anyone who would join Max knows they have a significant journey ahead to comprehend the RB19 and the type of configuration they are utilizing. Another factor to consider is that the car has been extensively designed to align with Max’s driving style. Currently, I believe that anyone who enters such a vehicle would face a challenging endeavor, and Red Bull knows this.
