This is the third opportunity to bet on the Feyenoord vs Lazio odds in the last couple of years. Last season, these teams split their meetings in the same Europa League group. Feyenoord, who finished first in the group, pulled off a 1-0 win in Rotterdam as Santiago Gimenez scored the winner. Gimenez had also scored twice in the reverse fixture, but Lazio won 4-2 in Rome as Matias Vecino also scored a double. Feyenoord Dominant in Eredivisie
Feyenoord are the defending Eredivisie champions, and they’ve kicked off their domestic campaign unbeaten through nine matches. After drawing their first two league matches, they’ve won seven straight and have been a great soccer bet. The Rotterdam club destroyed Vitesse 4-0 on Saturday. Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez scored and provided an assist in the match.
He leads the Eredivisie with 13 goals in nine matches and is one of Europe’s most in-form strikers. Feyenoord’s last Champions League match, a few weeks ago, finished in a 3-2 loss at Atletico Madrid. The Dutch side took the lead twice but couldn’t get the job done in Madrid. Stengs and Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored in the opening 2-0 win over Celtic, though. Along with Gimenez, Luka Ivanusec and Yankuba Minteh could miss this one.
Lazio Healthy Heading into UCL Matchday
Since losing 2-0 at AC Milan on the last day of September, Lazio have won their previous three games, in all competitions. That includes a 2-1 comeback win over Celtic in the UEFA Champions League a few weeks back. Two substitutes were involved in the winning goal as Matteo Guendouzi sent in a cross for Pedro, who put home a header deep into stoppage time.
Now, Lazio are in second place in the Group E UCL standings, but they’re level on points with leaders Atletico Madrid. On Saturday, the Biancocelesti kept their first road clean sheet of the season. Felipe Anderson opened up the scoring in the 28th minute at Sassuolo with his first Serie A goal of the season. Luis Alberto added a second under 10 minutes later as Lazio cruised to victory.
Lazio have now scored twice in four of their last five UCL matches in all competitions. Mattia Zaccagni, Ciro Immobile, and Ivan Provedel were nursing injuries heading into the weekend, but all made appearances at Sassuolo. So, there are no names on the Lazio injury list heading into this Champions League clash.
