Arsenal vs Brentford Head-to-Head

Brentford are looking for their first-ever win at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. They’re 0-1-2 on the road at Arsenal all-time. This season, Arsenal and Brentford have met twice, once in the EPL and once in the EFL Cup. In the EFL Cup, Reiss Nelson scored the game’s only goal as Arsenal picked up a 1-0 win at the Gtech Community Stadium. Kai Havertz scored a late winner as the Gunners won by the same scoreline last November. Recent EPL scores in this fixture have favored Arsenal. The Gunners are unbeaten in the last four, with a 3-1-0 record.

Arsenal Setting Records Left and Right

Ever since a midseason training camp in Dubai, Arsenal have been taking the Premier League by storm. They’re on a seven game EPL winning streak and the 68 goals they’ve scored through 27 games is the most the Gunners have ever scored at this point of a Premier League season. Incredibly, Arsenal have scored 21 of those goals in the last four games alone. On Monday, they matched their record away Premier League win with a 6-0 victory over Sheffield United.

That record was set just a few weeks ago when the Gunners defeated West Ham 6-0. The scoring has been balanced for Arsenal all season and five different players got on the scoresheet on Monday and an own goal was scored. Arsenal are now the first team in the top four tiers of English football to win three consecutive away games by five goals or more. The only negatives that came out of Monday were injuries to left winger Gabriel Martinelli and right winger Bukayo Saka.

Mikel Arteta subbed off Martinelli and said he had a cut, while Saka was reportedly sick on Monday. At least Saka should be available for this one, while Martinelli’s status is worth monitoring. Saka leads the Gunners in both goals and assists this season, with 12 and eight, respectively.

While Saka and Martinelli departed early, Fabio Vieira and Thomas Partey returned to action after long absences. Both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu are listed as doubts for this one, while fellow defender Jurrien Timber is out. Arsenal have an important Champions League match on Tuesday vs. Porto that they need to win to stay alive. Arteta likely won’t take any unnecessary risks with his key players. Still, the Arsenal vs Brentford EPL odds price the hosts as -450 favorites.

Brentford Conceding at Alarming Rate

Brentford haven’t had many issues scoring goals lately but they have struggled to keep their opponents out. The Bees have conceded six goals in their last two matches and took a 2-1 lead vs. Chelsea in the second half on Saturday but conceded a late equalizer in a 2-2 draw. Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa were on the scoresheet for Thomas Frank’s side. Wissa’s goal is a strong contender for Premier League goal of the month as he scored a stunning overhead kick.

The Bees are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table, six points ahead of the relegation zone. In fact, only the teams who currently occupy the relegation places have conceded more goals than Brentford. They have kept a shutout in just one of their last 17 Premier League matches and both of Chelsea’s goals were on headers. Brentford will need to be organized on Saturday because Arsenal are the league’s best team on set pieces.

Brentford are winless in their last four and have conceded 11 goals during that time. Defensive injuries certainly haven’t helped Brentford’s case. Center backs Ethan Pinnock and Ben Mee are injured, along with fullbacks Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey. Meanwhile, Josh Dasilva, Kevin Schade and Bryan Mbeumo are also sidelined.

Arsenal vs Brentford Match Analysis & Odds

This is certainly a match Arsenal will feel confident about winning and the Gunners have been ruthless in recent matches. Whereas the Gunners of old would let their opponents hang around, Arsenal want to win every game by a big scoreline now. Mikel Arteta knows how tight the title race could be and he wants his players to make sure they don’t lose out on goal difference. So, Arsenal are two-goal favorites for Saturday’s match.

The Arsenal vs Brentford EPL odds list Arsenal -2 at +110 odds and Brentford -2 at -130. This is the third-ever EPL meeting between the two sides at the Emirates and last season this fixture finished 1-1. Arsenal won 2-1 at home in 2021-22 and they’ll be looking to get their first multi-goal win over Brentford at the Emirates here.

The Gunners are -450 moneyline favorites while Brentford are +1045 underdogs. The Bees are just 3-1-9 on the road in the Premier League this season but they did keep things close with Manchester City at the Etihad a couple of weeks ago.

Bettors can take a draw at +570 odds but that would certainly hurt Arsenal’s title chances. Kai Havertz scored the winner the last time these two teams met and he’s been excelling in a striker role over the last few weeks. Even with Arsenal’s breakneck scoring pace, under 3.5 goals are priced at -135 odds here.
