In one of the holiday week’s best matches, we’ll preview the Brighton vs Tottenham EPL odds.

Head-to-Head

This is the first chance to bet on the Brighton vs Tottenham EPL odds in the 2023-24 season. In 2022-23, Spurs completed the double over Brighton as Harry Kane scored in both fixtures. Before leaving for Bayern Munich, the EPL stats show Kane had 10 career goals vs Brighton. Brighton have failed to score in three of their last four matches vs Tottenham but the Seagulls have won two of the last five EPL meetings.

Brighton Struggling to Stay Healthy

The week before Christmas, Brighton went to London for a match at Crystal Palace. Roberto de Zerbi’s Seagulls fell behind as Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen gave the ball away and Jordan Ayew headed in a cross. Brighton had a bunch of chances to equalize the match but the score stayed 1-0 Crystal Palace deep into the second half. Danny Welbeck came on as a sub and the veteran striker canceled out Ayew’s header.

Welbeck masterfully placed his header in the top right corner past Palace keeper Dean Henderson to equalize. Although Brighton have won just one of their last five Premier League matches, they did recently win their Europa League group. Jan Paul van Hecke has also emerged as a key defender in recent months and was solid at Crystal Palace.

Brighton enter Matchday 19 in ninth place in the EPL, with a 7-6-5 record. The Premier League odds currently price the Seagulls at just +300 to make the top six for a second straight season. They’ve conceded the most goals of any top half team and both teams have scored in 17 of their 18 Premier League games this season.

They’ve also got more than a handful of players out for Thursday’s match. All of Joel Veltman, Tariq Lamptey, Ansu Fati, Adam Webster, Pervis Estupiñan, Solly March and Julio Enciso should miss this one due to injuries.

Tottenham Back to Winning Ways

Tottenham got off to a fast start vs a red hot Everton on Saturday. Brennan Johnson assisted Richarlison for Spurs’ first goal just nine minutes in. Johnson was also involved in Tottenham’s second, less than 10 minutes later. Son Heung-min turned in Johnson’s rebounded shot as Spurs led 2-0 less than 20 minutes in. Everton did get a goal back in the 81st minute and had a few chances to equalize but Spurs held on for a third straight win.

By picking up all three points Ange Postecoglou’s side also ended Everton’s four-game winning streak. Some important EPL news heading into this match is that Spurs and Bournemouth hold the leagues joint-longest active winning streaks. Tottenham also recently defeated Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.

With Manchester City in Saudi Arabia for the FIFA Club World Cup, Spurs finished the weekend in the top four. They’re two points ahead of City, who have a game in hand, and four points behind leaders Arsenal.

Richarlison has started to get on the scoresheet regularly after an incredibly difficult start to life in North London. The Brazilian international scored just one goal all of last season but has four EPL goals in his last three EPL games. Meanwhile, Cristian Romero went off at halftime vs Everton after feeling tightness in his hamstring.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll be able to play on Thursday but Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon are all out. Midfielder Yves Bissouma is also suspended for Thursday’s match.

Match Analysis & Odds

This is expected to be one of the most even matches of the week in any top league. Currently, the Brighton vs Tottenham EPL odds price the hosts as +150 favorites and visiting Spurs as +155 underdogs. Notably, Brighton are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League matches at home.

They haven’t lost an EPL match at the American Express Stadium since August. They have a bunch of players out injured but still have a good deal of attacking firepower.

Spurs have also scored in every single match they’ve played this season and this is a match that could easily turn into a shootout. Over 3, 3.5 goals display -115 odds as both EPL teams play an uncompromising, attacking style which invites pressure.

Richarlison has been in excellent form as of late and Son has also found the net 11 times in the EPL so far. In this pick’em, Brighton pk sits at -112 odds and Tottenham pk is priced at -108.

A draw is priced at +290 odds here and neither team could be too upset coming away with a point. Both teams are certainly expected to score here, as BTTS comes in at -250 odds. Brighton are falling behind a bit in the race for the top six and this is the kind of home match they need to pick up points in to reach the heights they did last Premier League season.
