Struggling Manchester United Host Liverpool

Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United enter Matchweek 3 in last place and the matches don’t get any easier. The Red Devils host Liverpool, who are also without a win, on Sunday at Old Trafford. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will look to extend Man U’s misery as Manchester City and Arsenal attempt to stay perfect. We’ll review those teams and other EPL fixtures betting odds from some of the best matches of the weekend.

Tottenham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Harry Kane’s last-gasp equalizer saved a point for Tottenham in a feisty London Derby at Chelsea last Sunday. Coach Antonio Conte was red carded, along with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, but looks set to avoid a touchline ban. Tottenham comes into their match vs. Wolves on Saturday with four points from two matches. Spurs are 1½-goal and +265 favorites.

Note that Wolves did manage to beat Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season. However, the Wolves have scored just one goal in two matches and are 14th in the English Premier League standings. Wolves will be praying they can register club record signing Matheus Nunes in time for Saturday’s match. The Portuguese midfielder should add another dimension to the Wolverhampton midfield.

Even so, the Wolves are +750 underdogs and it’ll be difficult stopping a Tottenham side that has scored six goals in two games. Given that, it should come as no surprise that over 2½  is priced at -140 EPL odds. Still, none of the last four EPL meetings between these two teams have finished with more than two goals.

Fulham vs Brentford

This will be the first meeting between Fulham and Brentford in Premier League history. The clubs do have a bit of history as West London rivals in the lower leagues. Fulham defeated Brentford in the 2020 EFL Championship Playoff final to earn promotion to the EPL. Heading into Saturday, both teams are unbeaten and would prefer it stays that way.

Brentford embarrassed Manchester United last Saturday with a 4-0 win and will look to continue their momentum. Thomas Frank’s Bees are +190 underdogs in this intriguing pick’em. Fulham, on the other hand, is +160 favorites and has drawn vs. both Liverpool and Wolves.

The Matchday 3 EPL fixtures betting odds price a draw at +245. Although, this looks to be Fulham’s best chance to pick up a win thus far. In any case, this should be a highly entertaining West London Derby.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Newly promoted AFC Bournemouth host Arsenal on the South Coast on Saturday. Bournemouth is 1-1 but lost 4-0 to Manchester City on Matchday 2. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal is firing on all cylinders. Former Man City striker Gabriel Jesus marked his home debut by scoring twice in a 4-2 win vs. Leicester City.

Arsenal’s early season EPL 2022-23 schedule is favorable and they’re tipped to get a third consecutive win on Saturday. The Gunners are -225 road favorites and bettors are hammering the over on their 1½-goal team total, priced at -190.

Dominic Solanke, Bournemouth’s leading goal scorer last season, looks set to miss out with an ankle injury. Arsenal is a 1½-goal road favorite as a result. Bournemouth is heavy +675 home underdogs and a draw shows +375 odds.

Leeds United vs Chelsea

It was tough to know what to expect from Leeds United in the first couple of matches after narrowly avoiding relegation. It’s already been a roller coaster ride as they’ve managed a comeback win and blown a two-goal lead. Still, Jesse Marsch’s men are unbeaten through two matches and face a massive test vs. Chelsea on Sunday.

Chelsea disappointingly gave away a late equalizer in the North London Derby and will look to bounce back at Elland Road. They’re -180 favorites to win a third straight head-to-head meeting vs. Leeds. Also, Chelsea scored three goals in both matches vs. Leeds last season. The total for this match sits at 2½, with the overpriced at -140 odds.

Rodrigo has been on fire for Leeds, with three goals in just two matches. The Leeds United team total is at just ½ despite them scoring twice in both of their previous matches. The home side is +475 underdogs, while a draw is listed at +360 odds.

Newcastle United vs Manchester City

Newcastle’s new look backline has managed two shutouts in two EPL matches. Still, the Magpies enter their Sunday match vs. defending EPL champions Manchester City as +775 underdogs. Man City has been dominant thus far, with six goals scored and none conceded in two matches. Needless to say, the Cityzens lead the Premier League after two matches.

Man City have tortured Newcastle over the past few seasons and beat them 5-0 and 4-0 last season. However, there’s a genuine buzz around this Newcastle team with Eddie Howe at the helm. They’re the most likely team outside of the traditional “big six” to make the top four this season.

Pep Guardiola’s City is a 1½-goal favorite in an intriguing Sunday showdown. Despite the fact that neither team has conceded, the O/U is set at three goals for this match. Kevin de Bruyne and Man City are -260 favorites to get their seventh win in a row over Newcastle in all competitions.

Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester United’s disastrous start to the 2022-23 EPL season is in danger of getting even worse next Monday. United, who have lost both of their matches, hosts rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford. Admittedly, Liverpool hasn’t been great either. They’ve drawn with Fulham and Crystal Palace so far and aren’t looking sharp the way they did last season.

The EPL fixtures betting odds favor Liverpool to pick up their first win of the season. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are -170 favorites, with their team total at over/under 2½ goals. Liverpool will be without forwarding premier league player Darwin Nunez for the next three matches after he was red-carded vs. Crystal Palace, though. Also, center-backs Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate are out injured.

Either way, Manchester United fans are begging for a better performance after losing to Brentford 4-0 last Saturday. The center-back pairing of Harry Maguire and new signing Lisandro Martinez has been a problem area. One-goal underdogs United are +425 home underdogs and have lost their last three matches vs. Liverpool.
