DreamLeague Season 20 Group Stage 2 Preview
Intense Battles and Surprises Await
The DreamLeague Season 20 Group Stage 1 gave us some of the best DOTA2 play we’ve seen since before the Berlin Major! We have a fourth-place tiebreaker for the last spot in Group Stage 2! We’ve seen some teams dominate their way through the groups, and we may see a new winner in the DreamLeague Season 20!

Qualified Teams
Only eight teams remain as the DreamLeague Season 20 moves to Group Stage 2. Group A has the most drama as PSG.LGD, Team Secret, and Talon Esports all tied for 1st place in Group A; the competition has intensified. Each team brings its unique strengths and strategies to the table, setting the stage for an exciting showdown.
Group B was less drama filled as the top four cemented themselves and dominated everyone they played against except when they played each other. However, the biggest surprise out of Group B is the emergence of 9Pandas! They only lost two matches and were still in those two losses. They could be a dark horse going through the DreamLeague Season 20.

DreamLeagueSeason 20 Format
The DreamLeague Season 20 will be split into three stages; Group Stage 1, Group Stage 2, and Playoffs. As we go into Group Stage 2 this weekend, here is the format for that stage and the playoffs after.
Group Stage 1
- Two groups of eight teams each
- Single round-robin
- All matches are best-of-two
- Top four teams from each group advance to Group Stage 2
- The remaining teams are eliminated
Group Stage 2
- One group of eight teams
- Single round-robin
- All matches are best-of-three
- Top two teams advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs
- 3rd and 4th place teams advance to the lower bracket of the playoffs
- The remaining teams are eliminated
Playoffs
- Double-elimination bracket
- All matches except Grand Final are best-of-three
- Grand Final is best-of-five

Teams to Watch
Gaimin Gladiators have won two Majors in a row and will look to add a third to their belt. Team Aster has consistently been one of the better DOTA2 teams in the world. However, when it comes to esports odds, they are different from the teams to watch.
There are three teams every esports bettor should watch at the DreamLeague Season 20! Those teams are PSG.LGD and 9Pandas.
PSG.LGD
The Chinese Dota 2 teams are on a different level than their Western counterparts, at least in the last few months. Nevertheless, there is one exception because of PSG.LGD is one of the few that can compete with the best. Therefore, it is among the DreamLeague Season 20 favorites.
Group A had some of the best teams competing with each other, and anyone could have topped the group. PSG.LGD managed to tie for first with Team Spirit and Talon Esports. Group A also has one of the most exciting fourth-place tiebreakers that DOTA2 esports has seen in a long while. PSG looked dominant in their matches, so they should be a team to watch going forward.
9Pandas
9Pandas are the surprise of the year! The newly formed Russian side has come into the DreamLeague Season 20, flying and out to prove a point. They only lost two games in their opening Group Stage 1 matches. Since then, they did not lose a match and will look to continue their form going into Group Stage 2 this weekend. They are a true dark horse for the DreamLeague Season 20.
