The Masters is back and there is excellent value available with prop betting markets. The PGA: The Masters’ prop bets are paying value odds, including the first-round leader, top 10, miss the cut, and country markets among many.
Scottie Scheffler may headline The Masters betting markets. But we’re more interested in finding value with props.
LIV Star to Start Fast
Joaquin Niemann is one of the hottest golfers in the world, and although his past form at the majors is poor, he’s a different golfer now. The Chilean has been a runaway train on the LIV Tour, winning multiple times in 2024, and he could get off to the best start on Thursday.
Bettors get +2800 for Niemann to lead the field. It’s never one of the easiest PGA The Masters prop bets to cash, but the value is too good to pass up.
Scheffler is the +1100 favorite, but he doesn’t often start well. We think Niemann could top the PGA Masters leaderboard after Round 1.
Schauffele Top 10
It’s not often for Xander Schauffele to be out of the top 10 on the PGA Tour schedule. He’s one of the most consistent golfers in the world, and despite his lack of winning form, he should be right around the mark.
There is a sense of frustration for Schauffele, an eight-time PGA Tour winner. But he keeps finishing close without lifting the trophy. However, when betting in the top 10 markets, bettors should not care if Schauffele comes close to winning. They want him to cash, and the +170 odds are generous.
He’s one of our top golf picks to win the tournament, and because of the limited field, his chances of being on the first page of the leaderboard are high.
Zalatoris to Miss the Cut
We love a bit of Will Zalatoris, but we’re worried about his back.
Zalatoris has shown glimpses of excellent form in 2024. But there have been some signs of trouble recently. The 27-year-old missed the cut at The Players when shooting 73, and 75, which isn’t a good effort. He undid all the hard work shown at the Arnold Palmer (T4) and The Genesis (T2).
The 2021 Masters runner-up, who was out of the game due to a serious back injury, followed up his Players performance with a T74 finish at the Valero Texas Open. This is not a good showing and his first-round score of 74 is not good enough.
His PGA Masters odds to miss the cut are +270, and we can’t leave that out of our PGA The Masters prop bets.
Matsuyama to Top Asians
The top Asian betting market has Hideki Matsuyama at +125 to lead Asian golfers at The Masters. The 2021 champion has played superbly in 2024, including a win in The Genesis Open. This is excellent form.
Matsuyama has some quality golfers to beat, including Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im, but Matsuyama is the best golfer in the group. Bettors get value odds for the Japanese superstar.
Hatton to Lead Brits
It’s a hot betting market with many top chances, but we’re backing Tyrrell Hatton to lead the British golfers. The fiery LIV player was last seen finishing high up the leaderboard at LIV Miami. He even let off some expletives in the final round but that’s why we love him.
Hatton is a +550 chance to beat the likes of McIlroy, Fitzpatrick, and Fleetwood, and those golfers are there for the taking. It’s one of the best PGA The Masters prop bets available at Augusta this week, and we’re locking in the value.
Garcia Tops Group Betting
Group G includes Russell Henley, Min Woo Lee, Si Woo Kim, Corey Connors, and Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard is the +400 underdog to beat his fellow golfers. But after watching him lose in a playoff at LIV Miami, there is no reason why he can’t win this group.
He’s also a former Masters champion and that should count for plenty, especially against this group of players. We’re including him in our Masters prop bet picks at generous odds.
