McIlroy Favored with 2024 Valero Texas Open Odds

The Valero Texas Open plays a week before the Masters, so it’s the last chance for many players to make their way to Augusta.

The former world number one hasn’t played his best golf recently, but with the Masters just over a week away, he needs to turn his form around.
The 34-year-old is used to being at the top of the PGA Tour leaderboard, but after finishing just T19 at The Players and T21 at the Arnold Palmer, something needs to change.
We’re not sure what his issues have been in 2024, but the Northern Irishman needs to focus on his game, and perhaps less on the future of the PGA Tour.
Being the PGA Tour spokesman regarding the LIV debate has seen his game deteriorate, so we’re hoping he’s focusing more on his game ahead of the Valero Texas Open.
It’s an important tournament, and golf betting markets have him at +900. We’re not surprised by the odds considering Scottie Scheffler had a +350 chance to win last week.
Take the odds and expect McIlroy to be near the top of the leaderboard.
Aberg Making an Impression
We thought Aberg would struggle in his first attempt at the Players, but he proved us wrong.
The Swedish 24-year-old finished eighth behind Scheffler, which was an excellent first attempt at TPC Sawgrass.
It proved to us that he can compete in big tournaments, and although he has little experience on American courses, he has adapted well.
The former amateur number one is on the second line of betting with 2024 Valero Texas Open odds, so he’s being respected by the sportsbook.
He has a +1100 chance to win this week, and if he plays anywhere near his best, he could add to his PGA Tour wins tally.
We’re happy to include him in our golf selections, and we wouldn’t overlook his chances at Augusta next week either.
Time for Tommy?
Tommy Fleetwood has been teasing bettors for years with a PGA Tour win, but it could finally come this week.
The British golfer has enough ability to win, especially compared to the winners we have seen in 2024. However, he needs to play better on the weekend to get it done.
He is a seven-time winner on the European Tour, and he has played well in the majors. Therefore, there is no reason reason why he can’t justify his 2024 Valero Texas Open odds.
Bettors get +2800 for the 33-year-old, who could springboard his career in the US with a win, and it’s much needed.
We saw Fleetwood as a player who could possibly move to LIV Golf if he doesn’t win shortly, so the pressure is on to perform.
Back-to-back for Conners
Canada’s Corey Conners won the Valero Texas Open last year, so he could win consecutive titles.
The 32-year-old has been playing well this year, including a T13 finish at the Players, and a T18 finish at the Arnold Palmer.
Conners is a two-time winner of this golf tournament, so he’s a course specialist, and we’re loving the +2200 odds.
He won his first PGA Tour tournament in 2019 at the Valero Texas Open before winning again in 2023. We’re hoping he doesn’t wait another four years to win here.
He usually finds his best form approaching the Masters, and he rattled off three consecutive top 10 finishes at the Masters from 2020-2022.
This is his time of the year, so he’s a golfer to follow.
