Rory McIlroy Tops PGA Cognizant Classic Odds
The Tour Heads to PGA National
PGA Cognizant Classic odds are out, and Rory McIlroy is headlining betting markets.
The Northern Irishman is the only headline player in the field. If it’s not a signature event, the best players in the world no longer seem to care.
However, despite the PGA Tour adopting a LIV Tour strategy, bettors get value PGA odds for the Cognizant Classic.
The Standout Player
McIlroy is easily the best player in the field, as his +750 odds reflect.
The former world number one is the only player at single-figure odds, and next in line with PGA Cognizant Classic odds is Cameron Young at +2200, and Young has yet to win on the PGA Tour.
McIlroy comes off a T24 finish at the Genesis Open behind Hideki Matsuyama, which was disappointing. However, he looked much better earlier in the year when taking out the Dubai Desert Classic.
His form on the PGA Tour has been rough to start 2024, including a T66 at Pebble Beach. However, there are no superstars in this field, and bettors have every right to be confident of a McIlroy victory.
We expect the PGA leaderboard to feature McIlroy, who is also worth including with top five and top 10 wagers.
Fitzpatrick Seeking Fitz-Magic
Matt Fitzpatrick didn’t come close to making the cut at the Genesis Open, so the major winner needs a bounce-back performance.
The 29-year-old Brit, much like McIlroy, has struggled on the PGA Tour to open 2024, but class is permanent, and he’s good enough to beat this field.
With two missed cuts already in 2024, the 2022 U.S. Open champion needs to recapture the form that saw him take out one of the toughest majors in golf.
His PGA schedule has been busy, and we think that’s a good thing. The more golf Fitzpatrick plays, the better his chance of being fit and ready to fire.
Bettors get +2800 with PGA Cognizant Classic odds, and that’s well worth including in golf selections.
Kirk Looking for Second Win
Chris Kirk is already a PGA Tour winner this year when taking out the Sony Open in Hawaii.
The 38-year-old has had a challenging career, but his resurgence has been notable, and he’s good enough to get back to his best.
He is another golfer who struggled at the Genesis, shooting +4 and missing the cut alongside Fitzpatrick.
It was a relatively low-scoring tournament, and Kirk plays better when the course is there for the taking. PGA National should play much easier than Riviera, which brings Kirk into contention at big odds.
He’s a +3300 chance to win, and we don’t think it’s fair to have him at longer odds than the likes of Russell Henley, J.T. Poston, and Min Woo Lee.

Berger Finding His Way Back
Daniel Berger comes off a T28 performance at the Phoenix Open, which was a solid effort following a tough injury.
He has struggled with a lower disc back injury, which isn’t ideal for a golf swing. However, he’s on the comeback trail, and we liked what we saw in Phoenix.
The 30-year-old is a four-time PGA Tour winner, and he represented Team USA at the 2021 Ryder Cup. The class is there, and it’s only a matter of time before the injury heals and he’s back to his best.
Bettors get +3500 for Berger, so there is some respect with betting markets, and that’s a good sign. His odds could firm considerably with live betting if he gets off to a fast start on Thursday and Friday.
