Xander Schauffele tops 2024 Valspar Championship odds following another top five finish at The Players.
The American has a habit of being near the top of the leaderboard without winning, but he’s the best player in the field this week.

He might be an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour, but Schauffele needs to win a tournament soon.
Bettors are getting frustrated with the 30-year-old, who finished T2 behind Scottie Scheffler at The Players.
He had every chance to win after leading in the final round, but shooting -2 on Sunday was never going to be good enough. Scheffler shot -8, to put it in perspective.
However, despite our growing frustrations with his lack of form on Sundays, he’s still a quality golfer and the best in the field.
2024 Valspar Championship odds have him at +800, and the next best in the market is Sam Burns at +1100.
There are some big names in the tournament, but it’s up for grabs, and Schauffele won’t get a better chance to win.
Support for Thomas
Justin Thomas hasn’t won a golf tournament for over a year, but he remains on the third line of betting at +1400.
Our golf betting predictions are including him, but we’re treading carefully, especially after another poor effort at TPC Sawgrass.
The 30-year-old is going through a slump, and there’s no other way to put it. He looks defeated at times, but the two-time PGA Championship winner has class on his side, and that counts for something.
Based on form, Thomas should be a +3000 chance. However, bettors have to take him at much shorter golf odds because of his previous performances.
We’re not thrilled by the odds, but we expect better from Thomas at the Valspar Championship, so include him in your golf picks.
First-Time Winners?
Cameron Young and Min Woo Lee have yet to win on the PGA Tour, but we like both their chances based on PGA Tour standings.
Young won the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year title despite never winning. He needs to get over the hump because his form at the majors has been excellent.
There is a big difference to playing well and recording top 10 finishes and winning. However, he’s clearly good enough to win on a consistent basis on the PGA Tour, he just needs to work on his attitude.
Young is a +2500 chance with 2024 Valspar Championship odds, just ahead of Lee at +3000.
Lee hasn’t been on the Tour very long after earning his card with the DP World Tour. The Australian played well in big tournaments last year, and he’s good enough to win this week.
The odds are good enough for Young and Lee, and they’re worth backing most weeks until they win.
Strike with Straka
Sepp Straka doesn’t deserve to be +6000, so we’re climbing into the value odds.
The Austrian finished T16 at The Players, and the two-time PGA Tour winner is easily good enough to beat this field.
He’s playing career-best golf over the last few years, including wins in the 2022 Honda Classic and 2023 John Deere Classic.
Winning the John Deere Classic isn’t hard because the field was terrible, but winning the Honda Classic by one shot over Shane Lowry demonstrated his potential.
He also lost two golf tournaments in 2022 in a playoff. The FedEx St. Jude Championship and Sanderson Farms Championship went by the wayside, but having a chance to win three tournaments in a year is credit to his class.
Straka also recorded two top 10 finishes at the majors in 2023, including a T2 at The Open. Therefore, he’s way over the odds for the Valspar Championship.
