Power Headlines 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Odds

It’s an Even PGA Tour Betting Field

The 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds have been released and it’s the most even betting field of the year.

At the top of the betting market is Denny McCarthy, which shows how even it is. He’s a +1600 chance but we have identified three better golfers to back this week.

Seamus Powering Towards Win

Seamus Power won the 2021 Barbasol Championship and we believe Bermuda will be the place where he returns to his best form on the links.

The 35-year-old Irishman may not have earned enough Tour victories compared to his talent, but he has a strong majors record in 2022. His finishes at the Masters, PGA Championship, and U.S. Open were T27, T9, and T12, respectively, which is excellent form.

He has the talent necessary to compete at the highest level, which should lead to increased success. He’s still chasing a spot on the Ryder Cup team, which is possible with a win and that’s why he’s staying on the PGA Tour.

“I never dreamed of money when it comes to golf,” Power told PlanetSport. “I love playing golf. I love the level of accomplishment and the personal reward you get. “There’s no guarantee you are ever going to make a Ryder Cup, but at least you can set it out as a huge goal and something you’ve always dreamed of. There was no way I was going to give up on that.”

Golf odds this week have Power at +2200 and that’s a value price.

Oh My O’Hair

2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds have Sean O’Hair at +17,500 and we’re taking a huge risk and putting him in our selections.

The injury-plagued American is a four-time PGA Tour winner, albeit over 10 years ago, but he still has game and he has shown that at times.

O’Hair, who suffered an injury in the driving range, has been gradually making his way back to full fitness. We anticipate progress from the 40-year-old, who last won in 2011 at the RBC Heritage.

He has missed the last three cuts but finished T8 in the Barbasol Championship earlier this year against a field of similar nature.

“Consistency has been my biggest hurdle,” O’Hair said “It’s not just that the game is hard, but the process. The process of trying to be the player I once was, it’s been incredibly frustrating because my body has changed, and I can’t do the things with my swing that I once did. My body doesn’t remember what I once asked it to do.”

The PGA Championship odds are too generous to pass up and he’s an excellent chance in exotic betting markets for top 10 and top 20.

Value with Van Rooyen

Erik van Rooyen of South Africa is another golfer who should welcome the chance to defeat this caliber of competition and win on the PGA Tour.

He has two victories: one on the European Tour in 2019 and one on the PGA Tour at the Barracuda Championship in 2021. Even if he hasn’t been in the best shape lately, he still has more talent than others in the field.

His greatest recent performance was a T10 at the RBC Heritage, where Patrick Cantlay was upset by Jordan Spieth in a playoff. Since then, his golf has been at best mediocre, but if he can revert to anything resembling his effort at the RBC, he has a chance.

2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds have van Rooyen at +5500 and he’s a golfer worth having on the ticket.
