WM Phoenix Open Odds: Rahm, McIlroy Top List of Favorites

Two Golfers Have Been Heavily Backed, Is Scheffler Due?

A quality field embarks in the desert this week as the WM Phoenix Open odds have Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy at the top of the market.

The top two players in the world could battle for the title on Sunday, which would make for great theater.

PGA odds this week are generous and there are some excellent bets to be snapped up.

A Choice at the Top

Bettors are split between backing Rahm or McIlroy for the Phoenix Open, but which player has a higher chance of victory?

McIlroy’s recent win at the Dubai Desert Classic, where he shot -19 and beat Patrick Reed by a single stroke, gives bettors reason to believe in his chances. He also had a strong performance at the DP World Tour Championship, finishing fourth and taking the overall title.

On the other hand, Rahm has won the Tournament of Champions and The American Express since his victory at the DP World Tour Championship.

Rahm considers himself deserving of the title of the world’s best player and he is the joint favorite at McIlroy with WM Phoenix Open odds.

“Since the playoffs… I’ve won three times and I don’t even get close to him. So I’m trying to understand what’s going on,” Rahm said. “But in my mind, I feel like since August I’ve been the best player in the world.”

McIlroy’s odds to win the Phoenix Open are also at +800. He’s a solid pick because of his current form and we expect his odds to shorten more as opposed to Rahm.

Young Nearing Maiden Win

Although Cameron Young consistently performs well, his lack of victories is causing disappointment for bettors. But the appeal of golf betting is the potential for high rewards, and Young’s +2800 odds in the WM Phoenix Open odds market make him a valuable bet.

Young has achieved two top-three finishes at major tournaments, including a third-place finish at the 2022 PGA Championship and a runner-up finish at the Open Championship.

Given his strong form, it’s hard to ignore him as a contender. He recently placed second at the Saudi International and is eager for the upcoming golf events.

“I’ve got Waste Management next week,” Young said, “and then Riviera, and then Arnold Palmer, and Players. I’ve got a really nice stretch of golf lined up.”

Scheffler Due Victory

The 2022 Phoenix Open marked Scheffler’s rise to fame and he has a special connection to the tournament. Here, he earned his first PGA Tour victory in a relaxed atmosphere before capturing The Masters in April.

However, his temperament has been shaky lately, so playing at Phoenix may help him relax. Despite not winning since The Masters, this is the same time of year when he won four tournaments in a span of two months in 2022.

If Scheffler is going to secure an overdue win, it could happen this week. WM Phoenix Open odds are showing respect for the defending champion, who is listed at +1200 odds and is a must-have in golf picks.

His experience winning this tournament goes a long way and he could make a case for favoritism.

Big Odds for Fleetwood

Add Tommy Fleetwood to the list of talented players who are yet to secure a win on the PGA Tour.

The 32-year-old has a successful track record on the European Tour with six wins, including the 2018 HSBC Championship, but has yet to transfer that success to the PGA Tour.

He has also achieved five top-five finishes in major tournaments, including a runner-up finish at the 2018 U.S. Open and the 2019 Open Championship.

Despite not winning recently, Fleetwood’s consistently strong performances make him a wise choice for golf selections at +6600 odds. It’s a matter of time before he wins on the PGA Tour, and at those odds, he’s worth backing on a consistent basis. Stay tuned for all the updated odds to win the PGA Championship.
