Former No. 2 Draft Choice Flashes Some Power

The Byron Buxton stats show a player who has been up and down throughout most of his Major League Baseball career. Buxton has had a few solid seasons. He’s also had a few that he’d probably rather forget.

All-Star Season

The Byron Buxton stats showed 2022 was his best season from a power standpoint, but his batting average dropped drastically. Buxton was selected to his first MLB All-Star Game. But injuries caused him to miss most of the second half of the season. In 92 games, Buxton hit 28 home runs and drove in 51 runs. But he hit just .224 on the season and struck out 116 times in 340 at-bats.

Buxton was again battling injuries in 2023. Through Aug. 8, Buxton was hitting .207 with 17 home runs and 42 RBI. He appeared in 85 games, primarily as designated hitter.
