How Will Golden State’s Chris Paul Perform Against His Former Team?

The Warriors vs Suns Lines Have Phoenix Favored At Home

The Phoenix Suns will play in the second game of a back-to-back against the Golden State Warriors tonight on ESPN’s late-night telecast.

Golden State started the season strong. However, the Warriors have lost four of their last five games. The win came two days ago against the Houston Rockets, 121-116.

They’ll take on a Phoenix Suns team that has had inconsistent NBA players throughout the start of the season. It’s unlikely Bradley Beal will play in this game. However, Devin Booker has played in Phoenix’s last four games without a break. He could still play for the Suns in the second game of a back-to-back. Both have been injured since the beginning of the season and will take some rest between games here and there.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

Beal last played on November 12 but didn’t play yesterday’s game. Meanwhile, Devin Booker played for the Suns last night. So, again, it’s unclear if he’ll play a back-to-back game for the Suns tonight.

Meanwhile, Chris Paul will make his first start with the Warriors against the Suns, and Kevin Durant will take on his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

With that out of the way, the Suns are sitting at -2 (-115) at home, while the total is currently at 233.

Can Paul and the Warriors earn a massive win against the Suns tonight?

Warriors vs Suns Lines & Trends

The Warriors are just 6-9 against the spread this NBA season. However, while they’re 2-6 at home, the Warriors are 5-2 on the road. They’ll be on the road against the Suns in tonight’s game.

Meanwhile, the total has hit the Over in eight of 15 games for the Warriors this season.

On the other hand, the Suns are 6-7-1 against the spread this year. The Suns have lost four of their last six games against the spread but won their most recent NBA matchup against the Blazers last night.

Like the Warriors, the Over has hit more for the Suns. Phoenix has hit the Over in 10 of 14 games this season.

Head-to-head, the Suns have defeated the Warriors in five of the last six games, including this year’s 108-104 win on October 23. The Suns were 3-point favorites and escaped by four to cover in that game.

More History For Steph Curry

Steph Curry has broken a lot of records since joining the NBA. But this one is not one anyone would’ve expected.

Curry has now played more minutes than any Warrior player in franchise history. Nate Thurmond held the previous record. But Curry’s 30,730 minutes are now the most in franchise history.

By the time Curry retires, he’ll likely have every single franchise record locked up. It’s well deserved. He’s had an incredible career and is still going.

On Monday, Curry’s minutes against the Rockets helped the Warriors snap a long six-game losing streak without Draymond Green and Gary Payton II.

More History!

Steph Curry’s former teammate, Kevin Durant, has added himself into the history books. He’s in the books for plenty of different things. But Durant passed Elvin Hayes for 11th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list last night.

Heading into the game against the Blazers, Durant needed just 14 points to pass Hayes. He began the night shooting 6-for-6 and scored enough points in the first quarter.

Durant has a title with the Warriors. But now he wants to prove that he can win elsewhere. A championship with the Suns would be even more history for Durant.

The Suns Are More Consistent!

While Bradley Beal hasn’t played for the Suns in over a week due to an injury, Devin Booker is back. He’s played in Phoenix’s last three games without issue, earning up to 40 minutes against the Jazz in a double overtime game.

But even that double-overtime game didn’t stop Booker from playing in yesterday’s game against the Blazers. It seems like he’ll be playing a lot more frequently now.

Meanwhile, Bradley Beal has been dealing with nerve irritation. It’s unlikely he’ll be available for this game.

On the other hand, the Warriors are without Draymond Green, who was suspended for a chokehold on Rudy Gobert earlier this year.

Now that that’s out of the way, we can discuss the numbers.

The Warriors are an average offense at best. They’ve scored 114.6 points per 100 possessions and have only shot a 52.9% effective field goal percentage. Golden State is solid on the glass and should get to the foul line at a high rate. But the shot selection and efficiency aren’t there.

Conversely, the Suns have scored 118.2 points per 100 possessions. They’re just as effective on the offensive glass and should even get to the foul line at a higher rate. The Warriors are giving up a 21.8 free throw rate defensively, which is 26th using the NBA team stats.

There are a lot of NBA odds on the board tonight, with 14 games on the slate. Make sure to check out today’s NBA scores for this game, along with the other 13 games.

After reviewing the Warriors vs Suns lines, we’ll back the Suns at -2 (-110). They’ve scored at a better pace per 100 possessions and are more active on the glass while getting to the foul line more frequently.
