Market Showing Little Interest in Obtaining Irving
The Kyrie Irving next team odds come with a little twist – they’re based on what team he lands with provided it’s not the Dallas Mavericks. The rumor mill says teams aren’t rushing to make Irving an offer. That’s surprising for a player of his caliber. But teams are trying to keep the payroll in check. And Irving won’t come cheap.
Irving is coming off his second-best year from a scoring standpoint. Between his time in Brooklyn and Dallas, he averaged 278.1 points per game. The only time Irving topped that is 2019-20 when he scored 27.4 points per contest. He did only play in 60 games on the NBA schedule last season. The last time he played more than 70 games was 2016-17. So durability isn’t one of his stronger points.
However, the Mavs didn’t play any better after acquiring Irving. They were on the wrong side of the NBA scores more often than not, going 8-12 in the games he played. You’d like for better results before forking over the type of money Irving will want.
Even though Dallas is more likely than not to retain Irving, you have to remember the Kyrie Irving next team odds are only valid if he signs with a different team. If he remains with the Mavericks, all bets are off.
The Mavs are hoping Irving will help placate Luka Doncic. Doncic can leave after a few more seasons and Dallas will do what it can to prevent that from happening. Surrounding Doncic with better players is one way to keep him happy.

The Phoenix Suns seem unlikely after trading for Bradley Beal. The Lakers are a possibility if LeBron says he wants Irving. What LeBron wants, LeBron usually gets. The Heat are a team to keep an eye on. They were rumored to be in the running for Beal. But they could alter course and make a late pitch for Irving.

Right now, Irving looks like a pretty good bet to return to Dallas. Mark Cuban won’t hesitate to pay him well and that appears to be more than other teams are willing to do.
