NBA Northwest Division Odds Update: A Three-Way Race

It Doesn’t Get Much Closer

It’s a hot race at the top of NBA Northwest Division odds between three of the best teams in the NBA.

The Timberwolves, Thunder, and Nuggets are within three NBA games of each other, so it’s all on post-All Star break.

Minnesota has the advantage, but many believe it will be trend negatively in the second half of the NBA season.

Timberwolves logo Minnesota Timberwolves (+110)

The Timberwolves have the benefit of having a better record than the Thunder and Nuggets, but holding onto the lead won’t be easy.

NBA stats have them at 39-16, which is a better record than expected. However, with Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert in the team, there are no excuses for poor performances.

However, their lack of experience at the top of their division could be a part of their downfall in the coming months.

They entered the All Star break with a four game winning streak, so the signs are they’ll continue their winning ways. They are also 8-2 in the division, which is better than the Thunders’ 10-4 and Nuggets’ 4-5 record.

That could play a big part in the NBA Northwest Division odds, so they’re the worthy favorites.

We loved what we saw from Towns at the All Star game, and if he keeps playing with freedom, he could finally lead the Timberwolves to some postseason success.

Thunder logo Oklahoma City Thunder (+220)

With today’s NBA scores, there is no reason why the Thunder can’t have success.

They score 120.8 points per game, which is the best in the division, and that’s why they’re being respected with NBA betting odds. They are 21-6 at home, which goes a long way to winning a division, and although their defense isn’t always the best, their impressive offense offsets it.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is making a genuine run for MVP, and Chet Holmgren is a leading contender for Rookie of the Year, so their players have stepped up.

Josh Giddey is also playing well at the guard position, and despite some off-court troubles, he is keeping his mind on the job.

The Thunder are 1.5 games behind the Timberwolves, and it’s only a lack of experience holding them back. We think they’ll test the Timberwolves, but it’s tough to bet on them with confidence given their inexperience.

Nuggets logo Denver Nuggets (+250)

NBA Northwest Division odds need to put some respect on the defending NBA champions’ name.

The Nuggets are going well at 36-19, but they lost their last three games before the break, which saw them slide down the NBA rankings.

However, they are good enough to bounce back and go on a winning run in the second half of the year.

We would like to see a little more offense, especially compared to their defense. They score 113.19 PPG and allow 110.8, so there isn’t much wiggle room.

Their division record is also concerning, and going 4-5 against their rivals isn’t going to see them reel in the Timberwolves and Thunder.

Getting +250 is a good price considering their ability, but they will need to knuckle down and stay injury free to close the gap.

Jazz logo Utah Jazz

The Jazz aren’t featured with NBA Northwest Division odds, but they’re an NBA team with nothing.

They have looked better than a 26-30 team, and although winning the division is unlikely, bettors could make money betting them on a regular basis.

They are four games below .500 because they lost their last four games, so if they get things going, they could make a run towards the NBA playoffs.
