“At some point we were tired and made some mistakes,” said acting coach Jordi Fernandez, acknowledging that his NBA teams sloppiness was ultimately what derailed them.

Sacramento have been a top-5 team in turnover percentage on offense and transition defense. Ensuring they play to their potential in those hustle categories will go a long way to giving them a chance at redemption in this one.

Denver Nuggets Get Spark from Porter, Murray

Denver coach Mike Malone was pleased to see scoring come from areas outside of Nikola Jokic, with the reigning MVP scoring just 20 points on 10 field goal attempts.

Michael Porter Jr had a team high 30 points and Jamal Murray added 25 points on a night where the two ultimately provided the difference when it mattered most.

“That’s what you want. You need your best NBA players to step up,” said Malone after the game.

Empowering those around Jokic has been a big part of why Denver has had some inconsistencies on offense to start the season. Both Porter and Murray are coming back from lengthy layoffs but now that both are looking comfortable we’re starting to see the true potential of this team.

“Denver’s starting lineup owns a +18 point differential per 100 possessions, making them one of the most dominant five-man lineups in the league.”

Their defense remains questionable for the most part but the offensive power they possess is enough to keep them in any contest against any opponent.

These quick back-to-back two game sets on the NBA schedules have provided some interesting market opportunities for bettors and it’s rare to see the home side lose both games straight up and against-the-spread (ATS). The market adjustment might be a bit too much though given how Denver’s offense is operating right now.
