Warriors Barely Hanging On, Need Some of Orlando’s Magic

Warriors vs Magic Lines, Matchup and More

Warriors vs Magic lines opened with the Magic as favorites -3 and a total of 218.5.  Let’s take a look at some NBA betting and see if there are any odds and props worth taking.

In the most recent NBA.com NBA power rankings, the Magic are ranked fourteenth, and the Warriors are ranked nineteenth. Both teams have long NBA title odds (Magic are +24000 to win the championship, and the Warriors are +4500). Although likely undeserved, the oddsmakers think the Warriors have better championship hopes than Orlando, which is much higher-ranked.

The Magic have been one of the NBA’s best surprises this season. They sit at the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and are still in the mix for home-court advantage in their round-one NBA playoff series. The Magic have been hanging their hat on one of the league’s best defenses.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

They have the third-highest defensive rating at 113.0  on the season and are the number-one defense since the All-Star break.

The Warriors have not been able to put things together this season. After believing they may be safe from missing the Play-In Tournament, they now sit barely above the surging Houston Rockets in the 10th seed.

Although they have dealt with suspensions and injuries throughout the season, they are finally healthy and still not playing all that well. They will look to right the ship on Wednesday in Orlando.

Warriors vs Magic lines are in, and we will take a look at past matchups, player props, and betting trends.

Curry Struggles Kill Dubs

Curry has taken a step back. He is now 36 years old, and although he is still one of the best players in the league, he doesn’t seem able to carry the Golden State Warriors’ mediocre roster as he did in 2022.

As of Monday, Stephen Curry has averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in his last ten games and only shoots 41% from the field in those contests. The sad reality for Warriors fans is that without Steph playing at his best, they have no hope for any sort of playoff success.

The bright side for Wednesday’s game is that although the Magic are one of the best defensive NBA teams, historically Curry has played them well. Curry averages 27.0 points, seven assists, and 4.9 rebounds against the Magic in his career, his third-largest scoring average against any opponent.

On top of that, the Orlando Magic are prone to giving up points to point guards. This season, Orlando’s defense has given up the fourth most points to point guards. The Warriors will be coming off a back-to-back Wednesday after facing the tough-nosed Heat, but check out Curry’s point totals for a possible over bet.

Jonathan? Is That You?

Before Saturday’s game against Sacramento Kings, the Orlando Magic were red-hot. They’re narrow loss against the Kings ended a five-game win streak and a seven-game winning streak in close games. Since the All-Star break, they are 10-0 in games where their entire starting lineup is healthy and are allowing an incredible 100.6 points per 100 possessions in that time.

The Magic have been getting contributions up and down their roster, but one that has their fans most excited is Jonathan Isaac’s play. We’ve all seen flashes of Isaac before (in between injuries and refusing to get vaccinated), but finally, we are seeing him play with a bit of consistency.

He recently surpassed 20 minutes for the fourth time this season (first time post-All-Star) and tied his career-high with 25 points. While defense is his calling card, Isaac has been surprisingly hot from three-point range lately, shooting a scorching 65% over his last 11 games.

With the Warriors being severely undersized, look at Isaac to get another decent minute load Wednesday, which may come with a rebounds total prop over.

Magic Are Just Better

Warriors vs Magic lines opened with the Magic as favorites -3 and a total of 218.5. With the Warriors coming off a back-to-back and generally struggling this season, this seems like a decent opportunity to bet the Magic.

That being said, the Warriors are 22-11 ATS in road games this season. The Magic are 25-10 ATS at home. The Warriors certainly could steal a win Wednesday but the Magic are simply a better team.
