After toppling Duke, North Carolina Is Favored to Keep It Going

The Clemson vs North Carolina Odds Favors the Tar Heels to Take Tame the Tigers

North Carolina Goes After Its Fourth Win In A Row Against Clemson

This could be a dangerous game for North Carolina, with the Tar Heels coming off an emotional win over rival Duke. The Clemson vs UNC odds favor the Tar Heels to keep on rolling.

This is the first time the teams have met twice in the same season since the 2010-11 campaign when North Carolina swept both games. With a win last month, the Tar Heels are attempting to repeat that feat.

Uncover Exclusive Picks & Predictions From Our Experts.

The NCAAB picks have the host Tar Heels listed as the seven-point favorite with -285 odds to win outright compared to a +235 Moneyline for visiting Clemson.

When looking at the NCAA basketball schedule, this game begins a stretch of eight straight games against unranked teams.

North Carolina remained at No. 3 in the national polls despite a recent loss to Georgia Tech.

North Carolina is fourth at +1200 in the odds of winning March Madness, with Clemson well back at +10000 in the championship odds. The Tar Heels are ninth in the NCAA NET rankings, with Clemson coming in 37th thanks largely to a 3-4 record in Quad 1 games.

Tigers Look to Roar on the Road

Clemson was a matter of seconds away from a huge road win against nationally ranked Duke in its last road contest.

Now, the Tigers look to finish the job against the ACC-leading North Carolina.

Leading scorer P.J. Hall had 18 points the last time Clemson played at North Carolina. His shooting and scoring splits are pretty close between the games at home and on the road, and that could bode well as the Tigers go after the upset. Keep that in mind when looking at the Clemson vs UNC odds.

Clemson is just 3-6 against the spread in its last nine games.

Tar Heels Seek To Avoid a Letdown

North Carolina flexed its muscles in more ways than one the last time out against Duke, with forwards Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram both having double-doubles as they combined for 46 points and 23 rebounds.

Clemson had no answers for Bacot the last time these NCAA basketball teams met, as North Carolina outrebounded the Tigers 44-33 and 14-9 on offensive rebounds. That could play a role in the Clemson vs UNC odds.

Bacot has posted three straight double-doubles against Clemson, with the UNC post NCAAB player averaging 19 points and 12.3 rebounds in those games.

North Carolina is 10-2 against the Las Vegas odds in its last 12 games.

Last Meeting

Clemson led by as many as four points before visiting North Carolina took control on the way to the 65-55 win.

After the Tar Heels were favored in the previous 12 meetings, Clemson failed to cover as the three-point favorite. When looking at the NCAAB scores, the game fell well under the 157.5-point total, the highest in the series since 2009.

Clemson vs North Carolina Betting Preview

With a veteran team led by Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis, North Carolina should be able to move on after the win over Duke and focus on a Clemson team that was ranked earlier this season.

Senior guard Alex Hemenway is out for Clemson, while forward Bas Leyte is questionable.

The total landed over in eight of the last 10 games between Clemson and North Carolina. The total is set at 154 this season.

North Carolina is 17-3 as a favorite this season, with the Tar Heels covering 13 of those games.

Clemson has covered five of its seven road games.

Five of North Carolina’s last six games went under the total. However, five of the seven road games played by the Tigers finished over the total, as have 12 of Clemson’s last 18 games.

North Carolina is 20th in offensive efficiency and seventh in defensive efficiency, according to the Pomeroy college basketball ratings. Clemson is 21st in offensive efficiency, however the defensive efficiency is just 83rd and that could be a concern heading into this NCAAB matchup.

Look for North Carolina to take care of business in what could be a high-scoring affair with the visiting Tigers. Don’t expect another 20-point win as was the case the last time Clemson played in Chapel Hill but the Tar Heels could be a solid pick to cover as seven-point favorites as they continue to set the pace in the ACC.
