More Madness for the Bulldogs

Facing a national title contender from the Power-5 conference is nothing new for Yale at this time of the year.

This will be the fifth straight NCAA tournament game against a team from one of the power conferences. While Yale had no answers for Purdue in the 2022 game, the Bulldogs threw a scare into LSU in 2019 before losing 69-74 as the seven-pint underdog.

In 2016, Yale stunned Baylor 79-75 leading to one of the most memorable post-game video clips in recent March Madness history when Baylor’s Taurean Price deadpanned an explanation of what a rebound is when he was asked how Yale outrebounded the favored Bears.

Yale threw a scare into Duke in that tournament in the next game before losing by seven.

August Mahoney and Matt Knowling each had eight points in Yale’s most recent NCAA tournament game. That could factor into the Yale vs Auburn odds.

Yale has covered in four of its last five games.

Tigers Seem Ready to Roar

When the calendar flipped from February to March, Auburn began to play some of its best basketball of the season.

Auburn won its only game this season against an Ivy League team as Broome had 24 points and 12 rebounds in an 88-66 win over Penn.

Auburn is 4-2 against the college basketball spread over its last six games.
