Jaedon LeDee Stats: Aztecs Star Shining Bright in Tournaments

LeDee Puts Things Together in Final College Season

Jaedon LeDee hasn’t had the easiest of times playing college basketball. Now at his third school, LeDee has put himself in discussion for being one of the best college basketball players.

The fifth-year senior is enjoying his best season, but has really picked-up his game in the postseason. The Jaedon LeDee stats show a player possessed and a team riding his coattails into the Sweet 16.

In the Mountain West Conference Tournament, LeDee averaged 27 points and 10 rebounds. His 34-point, 16-rebound effort against UNLV helped the Aztecs defeat the Rebels in 74-71 in overtime.

He played just 25 minutes against Utah State before fouling out, but scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds in that time. LeDee scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds in the tournament final, which saw San Diego State fall to New Mexico.

The Jaedon LeDee stats have continued to be impressive in the NCAA Tournament. In the team’s first game, LeDee scored 32 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 69-65 win over UAB. Against Yale, LeDee scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 29 minutes, as San Diego State cruised to a 85-57 victory.

For the regular season, LeDee is averaging 21.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He’s shooting 56.4% from the field and 45.2% from 3-point range, although he attempted just 42 3-pointers all season. LeDee shot 74% from the foul line.

The KenPom ratings have LeDee ranked No. 168 in offensive efficiency and is No. 5 nationally in fouls drawn. He also ranks No. 70 in true shooting percentage and No. 26 in free throw rate.

Highly recruited coming out of high school, LeDee settled on the Ohio State Buckeyes, appearing in 26 games and playing 6.6 minutes per game. He averaged 3.0 points and 1.7 for the Buckeyes, but transferred to TCU following the season.

Things weren’t a whole lot better for LeDee at TCU, where he still saw limited playing time. LeDee’s stats show he averaged 2.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game his first season with the Horned Frogs.

He did play 15.2 minutes per game in the shortened 20-21 season, where he scored 5.8 points per game and grabbed 3.9 rebounds. He transferred to San Diego State after two years with TCU.

The Jaedon LeDee stats weren’t overly impressive in his first season with the Aztecs. He averaged 7.9 points and 5.3 rebounds. His playing time increased slightly to 18.1 minutes per game. LeDee was a key part of the San Diego State rotation that reached the NCAA Tournament championship game against UConn.

LeDee declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, but never hired an agent. That allowed him to return to San Diego State for another season. The move appears to have paid off based on his performance this year. His tournament numbers have likely caught the attention of the NBA.

LeDee will turn 25 in July, which may work against him in his quest to turn pro, although he could be a valuable contributor to a contending team. A big game against UConn could make him too much to pass up for somebody in the 2024 NBA Draft.
