Will A Fourth Straight Yale-Princeton Clash Land Over the Total?

The Princeton vs Yale Betting Lines Favors the Bulldogs to Win At Home

Sophomore Stars In the Spotlight in Huge Ivy League Showdown

Two of the top three teams in the Ivy League will be squaring off on Friday when Princeton attempts to hand Yale just its second home loss of the season. Princeton vs Yale Betting Lines are favoring Yale to take care of business at home.

Yale has won eight of the last 10 meetings. However, Princeton won the last time out in the Ivy League Tournament title game. Keep that in mind when making NCAAB picks.

The college basketball betting lines have Yale favored by 3.5 points with -160 odds of the Bulldogs winning the game outright and +140 for Princeton to win.

Yale takes a six-game winning streak into the matchup, while Princeton suffered its first Ivy League loss of the season to Cornell the last time out.

Princeton is 43rd in the NCAA NET rankings, and that is the best mark among Ivy League teams, so when looking at the March Madness odds, the Ivy League looks to be a one-bid league once again.

Super Sophs Lead the Way

While three of the top five scorers for Princeton are seniors, it is a pair of sophomores who have done much of the heavy lifting on offense.

Xaivian Lee has six 20-point games and had at least 30 on two occasions, including a 33-point effort against Harvard.
Caden Pierce averaged 19.8 points and 10.3 rebounds in a four-game stretch before finishing with just eight points in the loss to Cornell. Keep that in mind when looking at the Princeton vs Yale betting lines.

Princeton is 3-6 against the spread in its last nine games.

Wolf Coming Up Big For the Bulldogs

After a freshman season when he averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game, 7-footer Danny Wolf has taken a giant step forward.

He is putting up 14.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 blocked shots while playing nearly 30 minutes per game. He is also third on the team in 3-pointers attempted, so that is a different challenge that Princeton faces on defense. That is one of the factors to consider when it comes to the Princeton vs Yale betting lines.

He played just seven minutes in the last meeting with Princeton but will have a larger role in this matchup.

Yale has covered in each of its last six games.

Last Meeting

Yale led for all of 73 seconds, all in the first half, as Princeton won the Ivy League Tournament with a 74-65 win while playing on its home court. Visiting Yale was the 3.5-point favorite, and the game went over the 138.5-point total on a free throw by Princeton’s Ryan Langborn with 14 seconds left to play.

It was the fifth time in the last six meetings between Princeton and Yale to finish over the total.

Princeton used the momentum from the Ivy League Tournament to upset Arizona and Missouri before falling to Creighton in the NCAA tournament.

Princeton at Yale Betting Preview

Yale has won 10 of its last 12 games as a home favorite, so that is something to consider in this huge Ivy League matchup. The Bulldogs are 14-1 in their last 15 home games.

The road team has won four of the last six regular-season meetings between the Tigers and the Bulldogs.

Yale is 9-3 outright as the favorite this season, while Princeton has won three of its four games on the road.

Princeton has failed to cover in its last five road games.
Yale is 8-1 against the college basketball odds in its last nine games against Ivy League teams.

Princeton is 32nd in offensive efficiency but just 139th in defensive efficiency, according to the KenPom Rankings. Yale is 79th in offensive efficiency and 102nd in defensive efficiency. However, Yale has faced ranked Kansas and Gonzaga teams this season, while Princeton hasn’t squared off with a ranked opponent.

Both teams are in the top 30 nationally regarding the fewest turnovers per game.

The total is set at 140, and in the last three meetings, the Bulldogs averaged 82 points compared to 74 for the Tigers.

When looking at the college basketball schedule, both teams face losing teams on Saturday, with Princeton playing at Brown and Yale welcoming Penn to New Haven.

Yale has had the upper hand in recent home games against Princeton, and it is hard to go against the Bulldogs in this matchup, even if both teams are much different from the teams that played in the 2023 Ivy League Tournament.
